I had two strokes just over three months ago and am dealing with aphasia. I realize everyone’s progress will be different, but your videos have been very helpful. Thank you.
hi! my name is sarah. I came across these videos and finally I am not alone. I had a stroke almost 8 months ago. I would love to here from you sometime. keep it up!
hi jack. thanks for sharing these updates.. i know this video was a while ago, i just came across it now.. was searching aphasia videos because i'm a slp grad student interested in working with people with aphasia. would love to see another update if you have time. i think these videos are and will be very helpful to other young people with aphasia. thanks again!
you have aphasia the way all the other young girls on the internet have tourettes or multiple personalities. all you really have is a need for attention.
I know this is old video, but I had a stroke in late 2020 at age 43, still fairly young I am told. Following I was diagnosed with Brocha's aphasia. One thing I have noticed in my current speech pattern, is the quick "yep" or "yeah" following someone's questions or comments. I am seeing this may be a possible common effect? I haven't found many supports locally, only TH-cam. Also, after long days of talking, I find my speech gets worse at the end of the day, especially if it is more complex conversations. I never really had a problem reading, but my writing and typing has gotten very worse. Sometimes I need to correct the spelling many times. Just wanted to share my piece. I hope you are well, and not sure if you are now Dr. Hurley!
Thanks for sharing. I've been putting off school, but I'll do it starting tomorrow. I'm usually pretty dedicated once I start something. It's just torture because I can't remember things, and I can't think like that anymore. It's stressful.
