Yeah. I was genuinely impressed with the actor's ability to act like younger versions of their characters. Everything from the way they talked to the way they were sitting felt really well done to me. Especially Nishiki.
The Kiryu actor is exactly how I'd picture Kiryu to look in real life.
The fact they include the character introductions is what really makes this for me.

I really wish this is how the cutscene played out ingame.
I can actually see him showing up in that part, as originally that's supposed to be sera's funeral in the tojo clan hq, which is why both shimano and kazama are there. Majima actually does show up out of fucking nowhere ingame too, just before the fight with shimano.

The staging for the meeting with the leader of the Tojo clan is genius, facing the audience to speak, setting the stage so that it implies the existence of him without having him be on stage...it's so gud
I think it's also great especially since (if I remember correctly) Sera's face during his entrance in the game was kept a secret. Where theres only shots of his leg and body.

In the Y0 cutscene where they drive to the forest, the animators have to lift his model off the ground so he could point the gun at the back of kiryus head, otherwise the model would have been too short to reach.
@@diablow1411 Please don't spread misinformation! The stageplay was on 2015 and Gaku Sano, Nishiki's actor, was 24 at the time! He simply is 165cm (5'5) tall, contrasting compared to Eiji Takigawa's, Kiryu's actor, 186cm (6'1)

Majima has always been blessed with amazing live action actors, people who really love the character at heart.
What Majima's saying at 37:59 sounds like ごっつ痛いやん "Hurts really bad", which would make more sense considering what happened
But since I don't know if this was translated from the japanese script or not, I might be wrong

Canonically Nishiki is smol, the forest scene in Y0 Nishiki's model was elevated to mach the gun to Kiryu's head
Cheesy acting, but remaining faithful to the storyline... RGG sure was an ambitious project!
Maybe there's something in the later games I dont know yet, but I'll always see Sohei Dojima kidnapping Yumi and attempting to sexually assault her as a really weird and random choice. I can only assume he was trying to get Nishikiyama's attention and threaten him, since he too was trying to make his own family and is a major pawn in the money heist, but for a moment that decides the next 10 years of Kiryu's life, its kinda swept under the rug. Kiryu "killed" Sohei, and thats it.

Dojima was always an asshole who only ever cared about what he wants. Yakuza 0 touches on it near the end

I can't help but laugh at how tiny Shimano's actor is compared to the character in-game! Though his facial features do relatively resemble Shimano.
Sometimes I like to imagine that the game series itself isn't even fully canon to the story in that it purposely hypes up completely normal or boring things. I like to think that majima is actually a manlet like he is in this stage play because of this
Well I mean the actor for Majima really isn't that short. He's sorta just average height. Kiryu's actor on the other hand is extremely tall which is why everyone else looks tiny.
