    I can confirm the tooth setting technique. When I was in the fourth grades, I was in a four wheeler accident. I sustained a concussion from it, and to this day I don't remember anything between when my face slid across the dirt road, and waking up in the hospital. Anyways, during that in-between time, one of my teeth was poking out to the point where the root was showing. So what my mom did was just pushed it back into place. Everytime I went to the dentist afterwards, they'd always ask about the tooth, and I'm like, "I don't know, I was concussed at the time. How would I remember which tooth it was?!" Must be fine, since it's been well over a decade since it happened, and I feel nothing wrong.

    "Do as much damage in as short a time as possible and get out" makes me think of what I know of krav maga. I've read that it's a down and dirty, just brutal fighting style. It's all about aiming for weak points, like fingers, eyes, the nose, the groin, and the objective is, apparently, to be as efficient as possible with each opponent. So do as much damage in as short a time frame as possible. Break fingers, dislocate joints, go for the eyes, whatever you can do to rapidly disable a threat and move on until you're the last one standing. So, it's basically "go in, go ham, go home".

      The problem is that krav maga relies on pain to work, in the real world you will die if you try it.
      Especially, in the real world you are not winning against multiple opponents.

    • @lordgenerias
      @lordgenerias 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Talking_Ed It relies heavily on the situation. To be clear, I'm not disagreeing. I'm just saying that no martial art is great against multiple opponents that isn't very specialized for exactly that purpose, and even then it's situational. And I don't think it's so much the pain it relies on as it is the fact that it uses dislocating joints, breaking bones, and causing a lot of debilitating damage to shut down a threat. Pain is most certainly involved, but more as a byproduct of causing injuries that are very likely to disable the use of limbs or/and hands. Break fingers to negate firearm usage and hand to hand combat, dislocate a knee or two to more or less immobilize an attacker, and go for the eyes to make them far less of a threat.
      Under the intended conditions, krav maga can be absolutely brutal. I'd say it embodies the mindset of "F this opponent in particular".

      @@Talking_Ed Depends on how you break it and how close the other guys are. I'm not saying it's a guaranteed winning way to fight. In a multi-opponent fight, though, if you know you're F'd, F at least one of them up to take them out for a few days/weeks.
      But let's be real: this is a fighting style developed and used by the Israelis for use in war. It's not going to be used when it's obviously impractical to do so. It's going to be used on single opponents, and they're not going to waste time. They're going to do whatever does the most damage right away. I would guess the user would grab an arm as the other guy throws a punch, F up his elbow, then slam his head into the nearest wall or hard surface, probably more than once. If other options are available, that'll be what's used, like a knife or a silenced pistol if those are options, and if someone is outnumbered, odds are the user would run or, as it's likely they're likely in the military, toss a grenade and get behind cover.
      I know it's not the end all, be all, God Tier way to fight. But it was made for a specific purpose, and when it's used by a skilled practitioner, under the intended circumstances, it's very effective.

      You break an elbow, the other dude is angrier and will punch you in the face and make you faint, 99% of the time, if we're speaking of another trained individual.
      Krav Maga works on civilians if used by military.

A grab heat move in Brawler where Kiryu does a suplex and breaks the enemy's back over a bike rail, and a Beast counter from a guard where he pulls his enemy's arms to dislocate their shoulders, slap them, and throw them over. It'd be interesting to know the kind of damage is done to the spine with the former and if the latter is even possible.

      @@rojack79er my thoughts exactly. What’s really crazy is in a lot of jurisdictions in the US if you draw a gun and shoot someone dead after they attack you, you don’t go to prison. That’s the most obscene form of bureaucracy, when there are laws dictating “you can kill people but only with things on this list.”
      For martial arts I feel it’s even worse. You spent all that time learning techniques to defend yourself and then you aren’t allowed to defend yourself. But you can draw a gun a shoot someone in the face and everything is cool.
