- In today's video we finally got around to installing some PowerStop Drilled & Slotted rotors on our 2016 Audi S3. Along with the rotors we went ahead and installed Powerstop's Carbon Fiber Ceramic brake pads for that extra stopping force! This install can be done on an Audi A3, S3, VW GTI and Golf R. This is a pretty simple job and can be done by anyone who has the right tools and takes the proper precautions!

Thank you! And honestly they’re not too complicated it’s just a matter of retracting them via scanner or Obd11. Forcing them back with a brake caliper reset tool will damage them and cause error codes. But I’m glad we can make it seem easy because it truly isn’t hard! Any questions feel free to ask

@@thegingerbreadmahn shoot you’re right it’s a 7mm hex that’s my fault I’ll have to change that. For the caliper it’s 7mm hex, and then the bracket is a triple square

You do realise that the S3 logo cap on the callipers literally pops off out the way it’s only held onto the caliper via 4 push pins. Take it off an the brake wind back tool works 😊

The S3 trim plates on the calipers just pops off then u can use the retractor as normal. They just pop back in when you're done.

Hey quick question, I bought the same setup same car 2015 S3, I read that some people have clicking noises while braking due to the slotted and drilled rotors hitting the pads. Did you notice this? I am installing mine this weekend.
I have these clicking and clunking noises on a mk7 golf r with this brake kit. TBH if you are sensitive to NVH, it's pretty annoying, you hear it all the time maneuvering at low speed. Would not buy again.
Never had an issue with this nope. Could be a defect in the product or another issue at hand

Rotors and pads installed, no clunking or any type noise coming outta them did the breaking in period right away. Quiet as can be and work amazing. Great video once again. Thank you big help. Not sure why others are clicking etc. even at slow speeds mine are quiet.
@@TylerBC18 good job! Wish I knew why mine are so noisy, both the shop that installed them and the local dealer say the sounds are normal and caused by poor fitment. Guess I need to go somewhere else to get the job done right.

Hi ! Just a question does your rotors come witha stiker or sign to know which is left or right, it seams to me that the groves or crossdrill holes had to go the other way..

Hey bro.your video teach me a lot ..in my 2016 s3..I want to go stage 2..I have a question for you..I'm doing my rotors like yours..I have a obd 11to open parking break..where do I go on it
Glad to be able to help out! And I actually have a video on Obd11 and I do show how to access the caliper adjustment to allow new brakes. But you have to go into diagnostic If I recall correctly, then brakes, then open up the caliper. There might be a video on TH-cam regarding it aswell

but you are an expert from God. This decorative cover is removed very easily and simply. no need to buy a special tool. I would just take the cover off and that's it.😂

Mine was 340
Just be carefull about what type of grease you put on guide pins. Bottom guide pin has rubber sleeve which likes to swell if the proper grease is not used. Always use TRW PFG110 grease or just remove the sleeve. If it swells it will seize guide pin which will lead to constant brake pad and disc contact. It wil overheat discs and squeak.
Only one problem your rotors are on backwards🤔
I think it's impossible to put rotors on backwards and then drive the car 😂

Just TH-cam how to install drills slotted rotors. FYI it’s not impossible they will fit just right even if they are backwards. Trust me just to look it up. Or just ignore me and keep doing your it’s your money and your life anyway👍🏿
