I would be lost without leave in conditioner! You turned me onto Blueberry Bliss, which is so amazing. I didn't know hard water could cause the problem too. Gonna have to try a chelating shampoo.
It never occurred to me that I should be squeezing the shampoo through my mid lengths and ends and not just glazing it over the top. Tried it today and my hair was the least tangled it’s ever been and feels so much better 🤯 thank you for this video!
thank you!!! my tangles situation is at an all-time low these days. i think it’s a mix of hard water and me still struggling with finding a good routine. much appreciated 😊
I don’t mind my grays at all- it’s the texture change that’s frustrating since I feel I’m in trial and error mode again with my used to be tried and true products for years
I used to have the worst tangles before trying techniques I've learned from you. I have very similar hair to yours and I'm so glad I found you! I've been growing out highlights and the biggest thing I've found that's helped is using ENOUGH conditioner. I used to just kind of glaze a small amount over the mids and ends.. nope. My hair needs a mitfull and pretty much all over or it gets grouchy. 😂 thanks for all the tips, they're always helpful!
my hair pattern is very similar to yours, if I dont “style” it there isnt any wave or curl to it. there are alot of days, especially lately lol, that I feel like its just so much more work than just wearing it straight
If I'm not using a Pre-Poo Bond repair treatment, I like to mix some conditioner and H2O for detangling. The Kinky- Curly Knot Today is great for this. (I can't use as a straight up conditioner as my hair just falls flat). My hair is super fine and low density, so I do like an oil or deep conditioner for pre-poo detangling. I don't color my hair and am faithful to at least using a Hard Water shampoo/conditioner combo once a month. Bonding treatments and a protein treatment every few months seems to be very beneficial for me.
I can't skip a leave in now! Maybe that's why! Thanks as always, Courtney! And 😂😂😂 your face when people were brushing shampoo through their hair! I haven't seen that one yet! 😅
So funny you made this video now. I had a tangle episode last week that really freaked me out. I always use curls blueberry bliss leave in and my tangles always melt right out so quickly. I decided to use LUS shampoo and conditioner that I hadn't used in years. Well the moment I put in curls blueberry bliss leave in after shampoo and conditioner it was instant tangles. I couldnt get them out no matter what i tried. I was freaking out. I had to try to rinse out the leave in as best i could and use the lus leave in and with great difficulty got most of the tangles out but not like usual. Then styled with treluxe relex serum and hi definition gel and it got a little better and my hair turned out ok and i was late to work. The tangles have persisted a bit with the next 2 washes. Have you heard of this?? Also i use jessie curl to deep condition but it seems to flash dry and I cant finger detangle. I have to use my wet brush and then it is fine. What's up with that?
I do these tips every time I wash my hair! It's become my normal do it doesnt feel like that much more work. I also use a lightweight oil after my leave in conditioner. If I want to style my hair natural I just use a foam for some extra definition and volume but its light enough hold my curl clumps arent glued together and I can easily finger detangle. Also I absolutely swear by my wide tooth comb! I've tried brushes but I just so much prefer my wide tooth comb. it's so fascinating how certain things work for different hair types!
I have bandhair, this is hair that is flat instead of round shape in cross section. It tangles a lot more than normal hair. I have to be very careful and avoid many things It's like ribbon-shaped shoelaces, the flat ones hold the knot much better than round ones. I only use a wide tooth comb. I tested over 20 brushes but they make my hair break. The comb is the most gentle for my hair
Sometimes my hair may not be greasy but it is so tangled that I end up having to wash it just because it is so knotted. What can I do to help prevent the tangles so my washday lasts longer? I have been doing CGM for about 4 years. The only heat I use is diffusing on wash day. I'm not sure why my hair still gets so tangled and dry and frizzy. I don't understand how my hair can still act like it is damaged??
Courtney, please i really need your advice i wanna try a new deep conditioner i have low porosity, medium hair strands, virgin hair and i am stuck between Camille rose algae renew and Bounce Curl deep conditioner i saw you like them but i dont know which one to pick.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtneyi have this one also and i love it for when i need protein. But with winter my hair gets a little bit dry so i think think i need something more.I have 2c with some 3a underneat.
My tangles come back after I rinse out my conditioner. It’s completely detangled before I rinse. I’m going to start bringing my leave in conditioner into the shower and see if that helps.
My tangles recently got really bad. I was needing this video terribly. Thanks so much Courtney!!!!
Glad I could help!

Blueberry Bliss is amazing! So glad it works for you!
I have three of the Perfect Hair Care towels, lol. Love, love them ❤. Great tips, as always!

And greying hair is even more prone to tangling! Bet you can't wait!
I’m actually really excited for more sparkles ✨

@SwavyCurlyCourtney thank you Courtney, 🥰
I really needed this video. I grow my hair to donated again and i have a lot of tangle, P.S i love seldom use shea butter for pre poo treatment.
What de-tangling brush did you use? I watched that section twice and couldn't see the name of the brush.
It is The Perfect Hair Care Brush. amzn.to/3O3gvdg

Had you used olaplex to bleach the hair? Thank you I wants to cover my gray hair with bleach but I'm so scared,😵💫
I sure did! I didn’t noticed that it helped all that much.
@SwavyCurlyCourtney thank you for your answer and your content😘
Tangles are my hair's way of telling me it is time for a trim.

Have you tried the Mielle Babassu and mint deep conditioner? I think that might work really well for you!

My tangles come back after I rinse out my conditioner. It’s completely detangled before I rinse. I’m going to start bringing my leave in conditioner into the shower and see if that helps.
That is a great plan! It’s also possible that your rinse out conditioner doesn’t have the conditioning firepower your hair needs right now.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney I was thinking that too. I’ll have to get a more moisturizing conditioner
I have horrible tangles and utilize many things you had in this video. I do get lots of highlights and I know that is why. It does get super annoying.
I had bad tangles until I started detangling my hair with conditioner or a mask in it.
I appreciate you not styling your hair in this video. I would say not skipping a leave-in conditioner is super important for tangles
