The Briogeo gel is incredible! Definition, shine, no frizz, hold. I can put it over pretty much any other brand of conditioner/creme and it always plays well.
Thank you for saying that you don't need to use all of these products!! I honestly don't know how people have time to do an 8-step hair routine - especially as you get older. Body aches and pains make muti-step, super diffused hair routines unrealistic. I just want to keep my curls as long as possible. I would rather pay more for 3-4 good products than spending exorbitant amounts of time (and money) on things that aren't necessary. But thank you for all of your good tips! 😊
Recently during the live with the Glam Belle I told you about my dry frizzy fine hair but I had a technical issue with You Tube. So I could not use enough words to write that I also use a medium hold gel on top my leave-in with aloe vera to lock in the moisture. I don‘t use hard hold gels because they make my hair feel weight down and dried out. If I used so many products to leave in my hair it would be too much. I can only use maximum three. So I last time I tried my leave-in, a curl enhancer and my medium hold gel and got one the best results ever. Have nice day Courtney.
You should try Sebastian Potion 9 . It’s a nice product that takes fix and has a light - medium hold depending how much you use . I just realized they still make it . Used it back in the day when I got my hair permed and it bade my curls pop ! I’m gonna order some . Smells like apricots a bit . Hope it still smells that way anyway😊
I just tried this combo. Living Proof bond tripple bond complex leave in. Moroccan Oil styling gel. Moroccan oil curl control mousse. A little product goes a long way! It worked really well. Could you review this combo? My hair is curly not swavy. But I faithfully watch you vlogs because my hair is fine and your tips work for me! You also care about hair health and give truthful product reviews!!
Morning! I tried the V & co wavy shampoo and conditioner yesterday and I am so pleased w/the results. Used no stylers after and I’ve got incredible volume and great waves. Next time I’ll add either a gel or foam and see what happens. I cannot tolerate the fragrances of Briogio and Curlsmith (except for Curlsmith Effortless Waves spray-worth a try if you are looking for a spray). Considering trying the Aussie gel. Thanks again for another great vid!
Courtney, what about hair oils? I have heard that there are two different kinds, penitrating and ones that sit on the hair. How can you tell which is which, and, what do you use each kind for? Thanks! I love your channel!
I use the curl smith curl enhancer, very small amount with added water bc my hair is very thin. It takes days of finger raking and I still have hard crunchy curls
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney I‘ve been using it this week and really liking it too! I’d love a video where you use it a couple of different ways. I’ve been playing with using it on wet hair, plopping and then glazing and scrunching some more in before I diffuse, and I’d love to figure out how to use it in an air dry routine (still struggling with air drying 😅)
Thank you for sharing about the V brand of shampoo and conditioner. I’ve been using Curlsmith Vivid Tones Vibrancy Shampoo and Conditioner and my scalp stays clean for days. I like The Mane and Tail Repair and Replenish Shampoos because they have Hydrolyzed Wheat proteins. I’m always looking for products with Protein that I was at Sally’s at asked what products have Hydrolyzed protein and she didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. I spends a lot of time reading labels when I go shopping for products. Thanks for the suggestions. God Bless you 🙏🙌
Have you see India Batson hair worn hair story just 2 products ?? Incredible !!!! Best hair I have seen online ! Please do a review on these. The result was shockingly incredible. But price is arm and leg so we need your input !❤️
I loved this video! Tyvm, super helpful! You are so pretty. I finally figured it out. You remind me of a mix between Kristen Bell and Rose McIver. ❤ Have you tried the Live Love Locks shampoo/conditioner? It's not a curly girl specific product, but I really like it. It cleans well and makes my hair soft.
Any ideas for swimming pool protection products. I know you can wear a rubber cap. But it's so tight and makes your head hot and itchy. And the water always finds the way into it anyway!
Hairspray sounds like it’s something my hair would like but I like the option to reactivate the products as needed, which I don’t think hairspray does as well as other stuff.
Have you ever tried Dove’s or Suave’s curly mousses? I have fine, wavy/curly hair as well, and I find those give me a nice cast without beingstick or heavy. Very hydrating too.
So, still a little confused... I have the Shea Moisture curl enhancing smoothie... not sure what the heck a smoothie is, but I've been mixing it with some water while I am in the shower and raking it through my hair as a curl cream... ish... lol And also using Kristen Ess stying jelly... again, jelly? Is that a lighter hold gel? I wish they would all get on the same page and use same verbiage so I can make a better decision. Not sure I am doing the best thing for styling, but... I'll keep watching and taking any tips wavy girls out there have (I am likely a 2b/2c, low density, high porosity type)
I feel so odd, because the miracle shield greatly affects my wash day, and my hair isn’t even sensitive to moisture, I use Cantu curl cream all the time with no issues. But the miracle shield? It leaves my hair lank, straighter, just strange.
@@snowflakes215that’s exactly it! So stringy, won’t clump well. I’ve never tried a product with the same effect in my hair honestly. And I don’t like it 😅
I keep playing with & can’t decide where to use magnesium/sea salt sprays. Where do you use them? Also, omg, try the AG mousse gel. I get such nice hold from it, and have hair similar to yours. But fair warning- it has hops in it so it sort of smells like beer for a second. But I’ve had epic hair days using it so I can ignore the smell!
@ My hair is decently wet if I use the mousse gel. After washing, I clip it in a claw, put on a shower cap to keep the hair wet, and get dressed. Then I take it out when I’m ready to do my hair. I’ve used it with ag recoil under it, leave in under it, and alone. I think it works best alone, or at least without leave in or extra moisture products. Then I diffuse. I don’t often fully do my hair, but this is a go-to when I do my hair.
I can say that my last wash day it wasn't the best wash day, even i use the right amount of leave in cream/curl cream and strong hold gel. i use two pumps of leave in hair moisturizer and two teaspoons of gel but i like the cast and the hold of the gel. P.S i used PALMER'S cocoa shampoo and conditioner to wash and condition my hair.
Do you mind reviewing Harry’s Gel? It is an amazing curl enhancing gel for my fine hair, but I wonder how to add another product to extend the longevity
I am hoping this helps: My hair is super fine and gets weighed down really easy, but GOSH there is a lot of it! I use a moisturizing light to medium hold product for my leave-in/ cream/ definer (CS Hyrdo Jelly, CS Souffle', or Kinky- Curly Custard, Redken Hydrating Curl Cream) then the hardest hold gel I can get my hands on to set everything (CS In-Shower Fixer, Aussie Instant Freeze, or Harry's Sculpting) and wet style. Micro-plop to barely damp. Foam the root for lift. Spray with heat protectant, hairspray for a little extra hold and diffuse. This is the most reliable way I have found to get all day hold and bounce.
I love B&b products, but people should know that their Sunday shampoo isn’t safe for colored hair. Maybe it’s not a big deal if you’re only using it once or twice a month.
I wish I'd seen this before I bought the Moptop Custard; it did not have nearly the hold I was looking for and I have to layer on yet another product. I'd like it a lot more too if it wasn't so very stinky, rather like nuclear candy.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney But on the bright side, I DID discover that if I layer it with another gel, it does have great smoothing power. I just have to do it with the window open, lol!

Yay, you’re in the wavy club!
Lot of useful information and tips in this video - thanks very much Courtney!
I 100% agree crunchy gel is the key for hold and after SOTC beauty curls , voila!
Love your energy in this video. Thank you for sharing these products! 😊

I use the Curlsmith styling souffle, and I get a super hard cast. I use their feather light protein cream first
i love the comprehensive list! I would just add oil to the list of when to put it where! like as a prepoo, the LCO/LOC method, or SOTC
You’re right, that is a great addition!
