I genuinely think this is one of the best fanmade trailers for the ArmA franchise to date. Fantastic work mate, as someone who loves making cinematic but struggles with the scripting side of things this made my head hurt to think how long it must have taken to produce!

For sure. I bought every single ArmA3 DLC there is.
It's just one of the best games to me, the most fair DLC policy I have ever seen in any game and to me overall just a product I'd like to see more of and therefore gladly support.

This is a bloody fantastic trailer!! The cuts were perfect and the action sequences aswell as the showcase of each tank was phenomenal. I can’t put into words the quality at which this trailer was made. This is what should be going up on Armas channel

Amazing trailer
As a guy who spends a good amount of time in the turret of arma tanks this is easily my most anticipated DLC they have ever put out. I hope that the RHS guys are able to incorporate some of this as well.
I feel you. Looking out through these black boxes was pretty boring imo. So finally having interriors is super awesome to me and makes spending time in Tanks way more enjoyable.
Sorry to bust your bubble, but RHS has already announced they won't be doing interiors anytime soon.
Interiors, no they are not, but they said they are bringing some of the other aspects of the DLC to their vehicles, which would finally allow using RHS vehicles against Vanilla vehicles

Thank you. Of course you can ask. So I guess the real answer here would be motiontracking. But I cant really do this or atleast I don't know how. So my solution to this was pretty straight forward by actually having the text in game. So they are in fact actually part of the video itself.

There is a "User Texture". Its just an invisible item you can apply a Texture to.

You know you might get a shoutout from BI or Arma on twitter if you post a link there. Also did you use Adobe Premeire to edit? And Gcam to film? If the latter is true, how did you get it to run? One on the workshop has been broken for me.
I'm using an older version of Vegas. And I did use the Gcam Mod from the workshop, but only in the two shots where the cam follows the missiles. Gcam comes in very handy in those situations. But other than that, I don't use it. However, it works fine for me in vanilla ArmA, but with mods enabled I tend to have lot of issues.
ThatWasNinja You just use Splendid camera then? How did you get all the panning shots and camera rotations - did you do it? Or does Arma have a system where you can make the camera pan around waypoints like in the Gem editor of Men of War?
I don't know what you can do in man of war tbh.
For my ArmA videos I mostly use camera.sqs and a XBox Controller to move around. For me thats the best way to do it.
I use Splendid Cam from time to time, when the camera is not supposed to move and as mentioned above GCam if needed (and if it works).
For panning around the Tanks I used the keyframe animation modules.
So I guess in the end I just use what I think works best for the scene I try to shoot. A bit of everything.
But I'd give the camera.sqs plus a controller a shot to do cinematics. I'm pretty sure you can lock on to a Unit or Object as well by pressing T (not sure about the exact default keybind) so the camera keeps focusing on that Unit or Object.
ThatWasNinja I see. Thanks for the info. Didn't even know there was a camera.sqs. You initialize that in the console or call it in a trigger or unit?

Do you use a kind of mod or a script writing?
I'm really clueless when it comes to scripting. I just set everything up in the ArmA Editor and go for it, mostly using camera.sqs and a XBox Controller. I used the GCam Mod in two shots, tho.

You mean the Jet crashing in the background? Setting it up was a little trial and error. Actually recording wasnt that difficult, like 5 attempts or so.

Hey man, this was great! You could think it was made by the A3 team themselves :) Im currently developing a cross world persistant war gamemode for arma 3, where CSAT, NATO and AAF will be battling over Altis, Stratis and Tanoa all at once, or even more maps if server owners choose to add them. Players will also be able to build persistant FOBs/Bases, but at a great cost in order to eliminate random clutter of the map, or even create their own nations allied with one of the 3 major ones. Beta tests are going to commence fairly soon, and im currently looking for somebody to make an awesome teaser/trailer for the gamemode. Are you up for it? My gratitude would know no bounds if you are!

As for your request, I have to say no. So many people ask me about making videos for them, but making these takes a lot of time. Like.. A LOT. I hope you can understand that I'd rather spend my spare time on projects I personally want to do, on a pace that I determine, instead of making it become a second and on top of that unpaid job.
I however hope to see and play your gamemode when its done.
No problem man, i understand 100% considering the quality of your content that you work very hard on it, and i certainly don't want to rob the energy you could spend on personal projects close to your heart. i haven't set up a page for it yet, but i certainly will! The name of the gamemode is OpUs, so you can keep a lookout for that in the future :) Good luck with the rest of your projects!
