Not every experience with the lord is comfortable to our bodies. It is simply "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." kind of thing. Fasting humbles you and your body. I can also give the example of the time when the roman soldiers asked "Who here is jesus?" in order to detain him. After answering them he knocked them to the ground. Im sure that there are more examples in the bible of god's power where the experience was not comfortable. After all the body is unclean and until we die a natural death we will not get a new perfect one like adam and eve had before the fall.

He had transferred so demonic presence through his prayer. I was a member of Vineyard Columbus and routinely heard rods of knowledge for people both in and out of the church. I had been praying in tongues for over 20 years at that time. So it was not the charismatic gifts that bothered me it was the counterfeit nature of the pastor who I took to be more of a sorcerer than a pastor. His doctrine sounded correct but the fruit of his prayer for my wife and me was demonic! This is why John Wimber asked that Toronto disassociate with the Vineyard in 1996. He said he felt that what was going on their was not the Holy Spirit. There is an extreme imbalance in Toronto and desire for experience that trumps desire to serve and care for the needy. The HS does guide and lead and dispensationalism is incoherent. I certain don't want to poison the wells to people experiencing the gifts and operating in them to heal the sick, cast out demons, and preach the gospel to the poor. But self-serving power encounters are a dangerous snare.
I might be a bit late in writing this to you but your story is so fascinating. There is a video that will answer why the people acted so strangely titled THE MOCKING SPIRIT INVADING THE CHURCH by the TH-cam channel JEREMIAH COHEN. It came out a month ago and shows a bit of the origin of the Toronto Blessing and clips to the present day. A man is interviewed on it admitting he was once in the movement but by the grace of God he escaped it and puts it all down to a certain spirit called the Kundalini. It is a counterfeit Holy Spirit and sadly many are still under its sway. I knew 20 years ago when the Toronto blessing started in Canada it was not a real move of God. In my opinion the genuine outpouring continued for about 3 months. After that, soulish, fleshly and demonic influences crept in. Please don't throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Anytime the Holy Spirit is moving in extravagant ways on the earth the enemy will see it and attack and attempt to divide, and attempt counterfeits also. Once you have surrendered your life and everything to Jesus, just start talking to Him like a friend about anything and everything. You start by going to a quiet place every day and devoting one hour to talking to Him. He loves this! A lot of times people just go to God only when they are in need. God desires an ongoing friendship with Him. With time He will become more real to you. Having that intimate relationship and fellowship with Him is the best and most fulfilling thing ever! Many sinful and fleshly desires will begin to leave once you have that relationship with Him. Also, read the Bible daily. Having the Word of God inside you will cleanse you from those desires. It will cleanse you from the inside. Trust me, it works! Just be consistent my friend. I love you with The Love of Christ. ❤️

How does acting like animals glorify the true Jesus? Would Peter endorse this, or did Paul and Silas thrash around and act like dogs or crowing roosters, or slither like snake before the chains fell off all the prisoners? If we are made in the image of God, then we are to act like Him. i love remembering this CTF 1994 Though living in Perth Australia, I was so blessed to experience this move attending Vineyard church in Perth and pastors conference Guy Cheverau. Simultaneously attending another church having out pouring that lasted 18 months. Youth meetings started friday night. We were peeling them off the floor Sunday morning. 90% percent of the church turn up for pre service prayer 7am. laughed and praised no sleep for days. Often peeled off the floor and carried home. The drunks come in droves from the tavern would wonder in and sit in the front alter area waiting to pray for salvation many got delivered immediately. Services never really finished, just went into the early hrs of morning. It changed me forever. I am so hungry for this I have missed it ever since!!! My spirit has been desperate ever since. I can taste it so close again. But Now Lord..... Any one that has been in it knows what i mean. Please.... come again Lord. Touch me again. So much more than the manifestations that don't make sense is the hunger for the presence of God, the desire to be like Him and the desire of the Love of Jesus and the power of His perfect love to His people. I am marked for life with something so deep most people can't understand. Separated unto God forever. Unable to settle for religion or less than full glory presence.

Once you have surrendered your life and everything to Jesus, just start talking to Him like a friend about anything and everything. You start by going to a quiet place every day and devoting one hour to talking to Him. He loves this! A lot of times people just go to God only when they are in need. God desires an ongoing friendship with Him. With time He will become more real to you. Having that intimate relationship and fellowship with Him is the best and most fulfilling thing ever! Many sinful and fleshly desires will begin to leave once you have that relationship with Him. Also, read the Bible daily. Having the Word of God inside you will cleanse you from those desires. It will cleanse you from the inside. Trust me, it works! Just be consistent my friend. I love you with The Love of Christ. ❤️

So much more than the manifestations that don't make sense is the hunger for the presence of God, the desire to be like Him and the desire of the Love of Jesus and the power of His perfect love to His people. We Christians acknowledge the inspiration and authority of Scripture. When things happen such as the 'Toronto Blessing', the only way Christians can evaluate it, is by looking at the New Testament. We look to the New Testament as the basis of our faith, doctrines and practice. So can we find similar occurences in the Book of Acts and the pastoral letters?
