Not saying I disagree. But how does any of this make Jesus great and/or make people love Jesus. It glorifies a feeling!!
Robby said that the encounter completely changed his personality and got rid of all the fear and inhibitions he had been dealing with. That isn't glorifying a feeling; it is showing the fruit of a changed life.
That “feeling” is Jesus
Most churches are glorifying their own intellect and understanding and the stone tablets of the law and seriousness and traditions of man.
Paul said: I don’t come to you with eloquent words but rather a display of the Holy Spirit’s power, so that your faith may not rest on the wisdom of men.
Loving Jesus is a choice yes, but it is also a feeling. I experienced the blessing all those years ago and would say it is the closest I have ever felt to the Lord, but if he takes the feelings away, I still love and trust him.

I challenge you to Judge their fruit! Heidi baker and Robbie’s offering to the Lord includes complete humility, they have poured out their lives for Jesus. Criticize not, least you be yourself! We don’t get the right to say of another servant of the king and pointing our finger at them saying “you’re doing it wrong!” Timbo, I truly hope you have an encounter with the Lord that burns away the chaff.

Oh boy, God doesn't give us a spirit of nonsense and drunkenness. This is what Peter, Jude and Timothy among others who speak of this happening in the last days. God speaks to you through the bible, don't add or subtract from this. If your a Christian how can you follow this, this is so beyond God's Word. God gives you common sense and wisdom not falling on the floor in a drunkenness, satanic.
On the day of Pentecost many thought those speaking in tongues were drunk. When you experience this in person and especially when it happens to you, you will understand. God given discernment will let you know the experience comes from the Holy Spirit.
Its easy to say that untill you are a bible college graduate, holy lifestyle living, zeal for what is right kind of person, and then it happens to you.
At Pentecost, the mockers' testimony was that they were drunk. Peter says that they are not drunk...on the Spirit or otherwise. Read the rest of the chapter in Acts 2. They are not collapsing on the ground in laughter unable to communicate the Gospel. Peter goes on to give a very clear and serious explanation of what is going on.

@@eugenelayton5231 I’ve dealt with that sentence before “God is not the author of confusion.” It’s totally biblically based. Look at Jesus’ life. He caused a lot of confusion sometimes. Also he spoke in parables to the crowds and explained them only to his close disciples. Also in the book of acts, if you still need another example, Peter was on a roof and he fell into a trance. He didn’t know at first what the vision meant. He was confused.
Think of it this way- It’s the glory of God to conceal a matter. It’s the glory of kings to seek it out.
Don’t let your heart be in a judgmental place just because you personally haven’t experienced something. If it is not of God you should really care for them and pray for God to open their eyes to the truth. Paul went around ministering praying and crying for people to repent.
As for the falling over it hasn’t happened to me but I believe in some manifestations. Look in the Bible there are times when people fell over.
God’s for you. If you seek him you will find him. Don’t give up on seeking and receiving all God has for you. Keep following Jesus. Keep reading scripture and praying. Keep doing what Jesus tells you to do.

The Holy Spirit is gentle and meek, and lowly, and being drunk in the spirit, really, God does Not like drunkenness, this does Not come from God. And falling down, where is that in Gods Holy Word where, show me?
here is one example - 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 - and it was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord), and when the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord,

the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud, 14 so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
@@jenniferswant they were not drunk, where does it say that they were drunk? The holy word says be ye not drunk, but be filled with the spirit.
@@sadiebenson1888 they weren’t drunk as with wine but on the day of Pentecost when the Spirit came in the disciples in the upper room they appeared drunk. Yea you’re correct the Lord does not condone actual drunkenness however when a person is under the influence of the Holy Spirit that causes people to not be able to stand or to move in such a way so might call them drunk. Why do you think some call alcohol “spirits”? Maybe because the effects mimic that of one under the influence of the Spirit!!

It's when you encounter God first-hand in a supernatural way, and you realize that He actually *does* these things. Now if you are an atheist, I'll give you points for being consistent in your thought processes. But if you consider yourself to be a Bible-believing Christian... Have you actually read the Bible? God is recorded as having done many, many crazy, outlandish and wild things, in both the Old and New Testaments. Why would He suddenly start behaving differently now than He did throughout the Bible?
@@dagman85 I'm not a Christian but, unlike most Christians, I have read the Bible, cover to cover three times. You claim that God actually does these healing miracles. How do you know? Give me one example (that isn't anecdotal) of an actual miracle. And answer the question "Why won't God cure amputees?" I'll be wating.
@@vicwestlad - you want an example that isn't anecdotal? What does that even mean? I've seen him heal many people first-hand, but if I tell you about it those will be anecdotal, right? Well I will tell you anyway. I've seen him heal someone who had a totally wrecked voice one moment, and after 10-20 seconds of prayer, their voice was perfectly normal. They and their friends were totally shocked when it happened. I've seen a teenage boy with significant asthma get healed over the space of a few minutes, where his breathing completely changed, and he and his father were both hugging each other and crying because of how moved they were. I've seen someone with two torn rotator cuffs get healed during a short prayer, to the point where that night they had their first pain-free night in years and we able to sleep all the way through the night. I could go on for a while.
I've also heard multiple testimonies of amputated limbs being restored, though I'll admit that it's not as common as most other healings I've seen or heard about. I believe that there were at least two that were healed at the Azusa Street Mission back in the early 20th century, when William Seymour was leading the meetings there. I've also heard a much more recent testimony of many people having fingers and limbs grow back, but I don't remember the details. You can find that testimony in a video called something like "Testimony of Limbs Growing Back" in the "Jason Chin" TH-cam channel.
@@dagman85 I notice you didn't really answer the question "Why won't God cure amputees". All you said was you've heard "testimonies". Wow, what a surprise. No actual evident other than anecdotes. Just once, just once I'd like to see Christians go to an army hospital and pray with Christian veterans and have limbs grow back on multiple people. That would be you actually doing something good with your pray-power. I know it'll never happen. You know why? Cause wherever it can actually be documented it never happens. When you get a chance do something really worthwhile. Video tape you and some colleagues going into a veterans' hospital and curing a bunch of amputees. Let me know when you put it on TH-cam. I won't be holding my breath. You won't do it because you can't. But then do you really care what the truth is? Clearly not.
