    Good review Kevin, I bought them for street to skate curbs and mostly riding flat. These are so light but with deck rails they weight as much as average skateboard and flips much better then without them. I ride them with powell dragons wheels, bones swiss bearings, powell flight deck 8.25. That's my ultimate set for street because it can slide anything with this setup now. I got 2 pairs so for skatepark I just change the hanger with 99a spitfire formula 4's on them.

    One thing I did was remove the stock bushings. They're not the best I found out. I bought Doh Doh Bushings. the red and yellow ones and that easily fixed the turning issue that past tensors had. I know they improved the mag lights overall but the bushings aren't good in general.

      yeah the bushing break in is very weird , they would lock up to favor right or left side if I land heavy that side , then I had to recenter by hand

      Totally agree with you on this one regarding the bushing. Btw what kind of washer u use for doh doh yellow ones? I can't find a washer that fits for the bottom doh doh bushings

    @kevinnicetry I just set mine up and skated them for a couple hours yesterday. Curb session. LOVE them. I had the MagLight lows a few years ago, and these are definitely better. The lows were too low for my wheel tastes but were still a great performing truck. The new ATG changes the game. Besides the buttery grinds, the balance point (FOR ME) is spot on. They allow me to lock into mannys naturally without much fight to settle in and roll decent length mannys. I've been on Ace's the past few years mainly as I'm a longtime Indy guy (since 1980?), so the Ace geometry was a breath of fresh air in the turn/comfort department however, their balance point for me on mannys is tough to locate. The trade off here is that the Tensor turn is definitely not an Ace or Indy, but it's not bad either; just different. I am running the stock bushings with the kingpin nut backed way off and hopefully after another session, they will break in further and feel better; but again , they don't feel bad. Trick tip on the flips: add two inside washers to counter balance the lack of weight of the trucks...I haven't tried 3 washers on the inside, but the axles seem extra long, so it may work...

      I really don't get why people think these trucks don't flip well though... they flip like crazy. Keeping it controlled comes down to the skater, not the weight of a truck. I think it's mostly just getting used to something. And yes, I get how expecting more weight can be different at first, but I've gotten to a point where I would not want to skate a 8" , 8.25" or 8.5" deck without Tensor Mag Lights on them. I'm good with Venture V-lights on my 7.75" setup, but needless to say that board is already pretty lightweight as is. I think the benefits of a setup that takes less effort to skate on outweighs any readjusting to flip tricks. Heck, if anything I dare say the lightweight setup flips better and faster anyway. I do think most people should avoid the lows though, as they might pop simply too early in terms of overall timing. Not saying the opinion of preferring a heavier truck is wrong. Just saying my experience with how it flips is the opposite.

      I'm actually back on the mag light. I set up an 8.5 with them and absolutely love it.

    • @PHeMoX
      @PHeMoX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KevinNiceTry That's cool. Yeah to be fair, I think steepness of a deck as far as nose and tail goes can also make or break a truck combo. I have had decks where my Venture V-lights were a better match for more predictable pop. But the higher weight definitely made it require more effort to skate with.

    I’m trying to break my maglite ATGs in. Bushings are squeaky and the rebound sucks. Turning is kinda weird but not as bad as I thought. I’ve been riding thunder lights forever but I wanted a slightly higher truck that has a shorter wheelbase that’s not Indy. Indys had a surfy feel and were too heavy. Great turning flow though. Liked how bouncy and responsive thunders were though. Hoping my maglites get that thunder rebound feel soon

      I changed my bushings to regular Indy bushings. After that they turned pretty normally. Tensors have weird shaped stock bushings.

    Hi Kevin, may i know if yoy have tried the tensor low mag mights?
    Im planning to buy tensor trucks but im not sure if i will get the high or low.
    I have never ridden low trucks and im not sure if that has turning problem.
    Please advise

      I haven't had the tensor lows but I did get venture lows and did not like them. They don't turn well at all, I'm not sure if the tensors are the same but im not a fan of low trucks. The independent mids were nice but heavy. Hope that helps.

    I didn't like them. I thought light would be better but the catch aucks. Also some flips and flicks just dont work. Grinds are fast but move around a lot. I've got some grooves but dont always stay in the groove.
    Recently replaced them with Thunder Hollows. Weight is much better. Love the grind.
