Are Clipless Pedals Good for Commuting?
Hey everyone. Today we are exploring the idea that clipless pedals are great for bike commuting. Took the bike out to the outer harbor trails and hit up some new obstacles. These look easy on camera but I assure you it's scary haha. Let me know if you commute with clipless, and how was your experience? Thanks for checking out the video! Go ride!

มุมมอง 4K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
Hey everyone. In today's video I show you my perfect skateboard setup. Over the past two years I've been working on finding the "do it all" setup. This is it for me. Also, I want to know what you are skating. Let me know in the comments. I also apologize for the sad ending. Hope you enjoy the video. Go skateboard! Join the Discord discord.gg/rKxRmZE5An

มุมมอง 3.7Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone! First, thank you all so much for 5 thousand subscribers. Can't believe we made it this far. In today's video I went to the slappy curb over the weekend and then we finished out the video with an after work session and we tried a different wheelbase. Also I go over my winter schedule and plans. Hope you enjoy the video! Discord - discord.gg/rKxRmZE5An
Miscalculation Leads to One Brutal Ride
มุมมอง 909หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey everyone. Took a day off from skating to do a long bike ride. Started as a video talking about cycling clothes and hitting some small jumps but soon turns into my longest ride yet. Hope you enjoy the edit and if you like the cycling videos please like and subscribe! Thanks for watching.
Venture V8 First Impressions
มุมมอง 4.3Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Howdy everyone! In today's video we are trying the Venture V8 Koston trucks. This is just a first impressions video and not a full review. Stay tuned for that in a future video. Huge thanks to Jim at Deluxe for sending me a set to try. Hope you enjoy the video!
Biking 20 Miles to Skate a DIY
มุมมอง 1.2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Howdy. In today's video we head to the Blasdell DIY. It's a little over 10 miles each way. This was super fun and made me excited to do more longer rides to spots. Hope this inspires some of you to ride the bike out to some skate spots that might seem further away than you'd want to ride. Enjoy the video!

thats insane... I grew up skating the EastCoast these would be a game changer for sure.
I commuted with SPD for many years and it worked just fine for me. It’s also an ideal system for bike touring IMO.
💯
i use krux allen because the sockets are deep and i like the pink and blue combination
Good to know! Thanks, I like hearing about that stuff.
@ anytime OG
didn’t realise that there was a 2nd edition of this bike. i have the original version. i swapped out the 3x9 for a 1x10 drive chain. so much better. and whilst i like the aesthetics of the drop bars i couldn’t get comfortable, so swapped them for butterfly/touring bars. now the four corners fits me like a glove, love the bike.
great new segment !
You gotta do this stream every 6 months or so, where you review your viewers setups, possibly how much they have changed since this one and so on.
Shoes next? Haha
@ hell yeah! Bunch of torn shoes with holes and shoe goo lol
About those “drones” the global gov is working together with these. I have seen this coming for 5 years. So what will happen in the midst of these wars, hollywood and ceo exposures the population will reach hysteria, then these drones will actually be manifested demonic entities that will claim to be a “creator” of sorts. They will claim to bring peace, by introducing technology to make life augmented and connected to one another. Dont take whatever these “drones” offer the globe because its the biblical mark of the beast. Jesus is the True Christ.
I like the video idea. It would've been nice if you were sharing your screen so we can see the setups too
Yeah I'll see if I can figure something out
Great stream! Had a good time talking board madness lol
We all have it a little haha
@@KevinNiceTry thank you for the shout out on my channel when I was asked for the @
8.25 Habitat + Thunder Lights with 1/8 Real wood riser pads + Bones Formula X99 Wide Cut 54mm + generic bearings + Creature Bonesaw rails. My first setup after an 11 year hiatus, digging it so far, got the Venture V8s, Bronson RAWs and a bunch of different Spitfire F4s in various cuts and durometers to try out next.
Kev is the man!
These are supposed to be worn with. Bothe pads if your a 12-13 highe shoe size
? Huh
@ it comes with two pads. Wear both if you go a size up
I like the bike progression videos. It crazy how much you have learned about the bike world is such a short time. Love that you have a passion for it. Time to bike across the country ‼️
Once we start getting warmer weekends I'm planning some trips. 😉
@KevinNiceTry Bike to NC for a skate weekend.
the thing i like with clipless is i consistently get my preferred foot position every time. with flats theres a bit of hunting. all other things are the same with a flat pedal.
Is the weight the same as a standard venture polished? How tall are the trucks? I love the concept here as you can shop for virtually any board if it’s the width and shape.
13:47
That's an instant click thumbnail for anyone who 🛹 in Dec '24. Haven't seen a push for 🛹 trucks like this since Ace Classics came out & then again w/AF1. Won't get another set of Ventures ever!

Thanks for the tips, I’ll give it a try. Ive been struggling with popped backside big spins for the longest time and have been trying everything.
Hope it helps. Lmk!
Lol
Looks great!
I run clipless on my commuter and even my commuter ebike. I have Crank Bros. Double-Shots with a flat side and a clipped side. I just feel like I get a more efficient pedal stroke when I'm clipped in. I have a pair of Adidas Velo Sambas and Giro Privateers, but if I just want to go in flats I can still ride my commuters. I am used to being clipped in however, being a roadie.
You do not get any extra power from clipless pedals. Its very obvious if you have a power meter. The benefit is that they keep your foot in place.
So if I'm losing power when my foot slips off the pedal this will help me maintain that power? Like power that I was losing?
@slickrik4 learn to pedal straight then? If you aren't pedaling perpendicular to the crank then you are just wasting power. Clipless pedals would be better in such a situation where you can't pedal straight, but they are just covering up a problem that is holding you back.
Always unclip both at the same time. Hehe
is clip pedal not clipless wtf bro... im not england and i know
You should use Google.
@@KevinNiceTry clipless means no clip
@@HerrmannAusHH not in the cycling world. Lol.
@@KevinNiceTry you should use your brain.

Interesting that you said that about the deck being a little stiffer. I noticed the same thing when I skated a Chocolate board. It might be because decks made in China are supposedly made the old way (heat pressed) as opposed to boards made in US/Canada/Mexico which are mostly cold pressed. I also skated a made in China Mini Logo and it felt very similar to the Chocolate. Nice pop on both and as you said felt like they would last. Only downside is they definitely look thicker and feel heavier.
Yeah it's odd. I feel like the pop is great for a week then it feels heavy.
Yeah it's odd. I feel like the pop is great for a week then it feels heavy.
Totally.
For those afraid of not being able to unclip fast-just go for the SM-SH56 SPD Multi-Release Cleat-a total game changer
Spd pedals are good for your knees, for long distance, but in the traffic and among people they are dangerous, you gotta be fast as snake,or Bruce Lee!
Absolutely not. Try the multirelease cleats from Shimano.
I ride through downtown twice a day in rush hour and haven't had any issues 🤷🏼
Bike looks sweet
You need one of those hovding single-use airbag helmets 😭😭😭 was one of the stupidest things I’ve ever seen, but their ads/clips were pure gold.
😂 yeah those ads were hilarious
@@KevinNiceTry they never hit their heads, not once. all that slo-mo crash footage for nothing. and they were like $450 a pop, they blew 20 of them just for the footage 😭
@diplenski 💀
Shimano makes good stuff
Woot!
Are those ventures?
Yeah
Cool song and clean skating
Wow imaging getting flattened by a trashcan😅
Dad board falling for the tactics link thing is hilarious lol he also said “dragon cult checking in” on one of Ben’s videos when they first came out then 2 months later was saying how they suck and he will never buy them again
Nice clip though!
8.18, 14wb Girl 147 thunders 52mm bones x99 Jessup Bronson Raw… setup suites my 5’8” Mexican person, skate ledges n flatground mostly
Sorry for your loss Kevin.
Sorry about your loss
For me, it would be a 8.5 fa board, ace 55 trucks and hardware, mob grip tape, Bronson raw bearings and spit fire conical full 56 mm 😊
..like everyone else - real sorry for your loss. losing a pet/friend.. it's brutal. ok.. as far as set ups go. could not be happier right now. still on my tired 8.25 board (love that thing). ..mostly doing the mellow transition at my local skatepark. and some concrete flat ground there too. running thunder standard trucks (am into them, work great for me anyway) with some krooked risers to bring the height up a little bit. and spitfire f4 54 conical fulls 99a (doing great on those). and some thunder bolts, and jessup grip. oh and some bronson g3s. wouldn't change anything. maybe some of those radial 93s in future (think they'd be good for d.i.ys), and wouldn't mind giving mob a try in the future too. but that's about it really.
Not a venture dude but I really like the kingpin housing into the truck
33 y/o here. been skating for 21 years now and basically have ridden the same set up since i was 18. my current set up is my perfect set up. 8.0 Chocolate Venture V8s. i set them to have my WB be 14" Spitfire 99s 50mm bronsons G3s Bronze 7/8 allen key pepper grip bones hard bushings My skating is a bit of everything. i like to flip my board alot and jump down little stuff. i also really like rails.
Is that a twin tail setup
No. It's the April Yuto 8.25 shape.
Rest In Peace, Winston❤️. I ride a 8.5x 31.68 with a 14” wheelbase from Santa Cruz. I’m 48 years young and like power sliding and kick flips. Keep on pedaling!
Look like if gerard way was hispanic
So sorry to hear about your cat. We lost our beloved dog at the end of October. The energy hasn’t been the same in our house and he was my best friends as well. A quote that has been helping me is “it’s better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all”. For your setup question, still trying to dial it in. Just went back to a smaller board that’s: 8.5 grimple stix 14.25 wheelbase 54 bones formula x97 Indy 149 Bone swiss
sorry about your cat. cats are the best! I ride a 8.25 as well april now. anything with 14 wb ... 147 thunders, I cant do the 8.25 trucks. super loose 52 spitfire any wheels is fine mob grip bones reds diamond bolts I mainly do flat ground, ledge, small stairs , etc. haha
