  • Join us on a tranquil one-day escape from Bangalore to the picturesque Mandaragiri Hills, located approximately 75-80 kilometers from the city in Tumkur district. Our journey begins with a comfortable morning drive, setting the stage for a day filled with spiritual exploration, light trekking, and delightful local cuisine.
    Morning:
Arrival at Mandaragiri Hills: Upon reaching, the first sight that greets us is the unique 81-foot tall Pinchi-shaped Jain temple, also known as the Guru Mandir. Resembling a peacock feather, this temple is a marvel of architecture and offers a serene environment for meditation. Inside, the walls are adorned with vibrant 3D paintings depicting the life of Jain saints.
Mukha Mantapa: Adjacent to the temple stands the Mukha Mantapa, featuring a grand statue of Chandranatha Tirthankara. The intricate designs and peaceful ambiance make it a spot worth visiting.
    Midday:
Trek to Basadi Betta (Mandaragiri Hill): We embark on a moderate trek up approximately 450 well-maintained steps to reach the hilltop. The ascent takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on one's pace. At the summit, we're rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, including the serene Mydala Lake. The hilltop also houses ancient Jain temples, adding a touch of spirituality to the adventure.
    Afternoon:
Lunch: After descending, we head to a nearby local eatery to savour authentic South Indian cuisine. The flavours of freshly prepared dishes provide a delightful culinary experience, reflecting the rich food culture of the region.
Mydala Lake: Post-lunch, a short drive takes us to the tranquil Mydala Lake. The calm waters and surrounding greenery offer a perfect setting for relaxation and reflection. It's an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts to capture the natural beauty of the area.
    Evening:
Return to Bangalore: As the day concludes, we embark on our journey back to Bangalore, carrying with us memories of a day well spent amidst nature and heritage.
    Tips for Travelers:
Best Time to Visit: The ideal months are from November to February when the weather is pleasant. Planning an afternoon visit allows you to witness a mesmerizing sunset from the hilltop.
Facilities: Restrooms are available near the temple complex. It's advisable to carry water and some snacks, especially if you plan to spend extended time exploring.
Footwear: Wear comfortable shoes suitable for trekking to ensure a hassle-free experience.
Mandaragiri Hills offers a perfect blend of spirituality, adventure, and natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for a peaceful day trip from Bangalore.
