Another tid bit to add about fuel: Most fuel cells are located at the back of the car near the rear axle. So adding more fuel will usually add more grip to the rear tires. Just another little tip.
It's definitely something that not a lot of people even realizes makes a difference in how the car drives. Most people just assume that it doesn't, but adding a healthy chunk of fuel to the tank can definitely put more weight on the rear tires and give you more grip. Like you said though, too much fuel can make the car uncontrollable while snapping into angle. So it's a balancing act like everything else.
