Awesome video, always nice to see good tree felling, I'm a logger/ tree feller, I had an accident in the landing two weeks ago, ended up with few broken vertebrae so I haven't cut in two weeks now, going crazy with this darn neck collar. Thanks for some content to distract 👍

Do you ever throw a wedge in the kerf when you’re bucking to keep the kerf open? Was it any more of a pain while cutting it Ca. compared to Oregon or other places where you cut, or is it mainly the logger that has to deal with all of that? Y’all make some good videos. Thanks.

I do not stick a wedge on it unless I get hung up. That is the ready why you see us doing that in-out 'hand sawing' motion is to saw a chains kerf wide gap in the tightening bind. So I essentially let the compression strength of the wood do wha the wedge would do nstead of the wedge.
The bucking in California was not a ton different. Usually flatter ground so less bind to work with and bigger wood, so cleanliness and matching up cuts was more difficult. The bucking specs in California were usually full process and mechanical skidding instead of shovel logging or yarders. So not really harder by different.
Half dozen of one, 6 of the other type of thing

If anyone EVER has a problem with what you do on YOUR channel, then THEY just need to keep their trap shut unless they offer constructive criticism to potentially help you out, like maybe asking for the right information AND reasons behind what it is that you’re doing and when it is that you’re doing it.
BTW, would you mind giving US some more “on the stump” narrative about what I just talked about, because it’s a channel promoter for sure 😉🫡 , thank you for what you do!
