Putting your number on the national Do Not Call Registry (list) has many benefits. First, registering your number could reduce the number of unsolicited calls or texts you receive. Second, if you receive more than one call in a year from a telemarketer after registering your number on the list you could receive $500, $1,500 or more for each call or text you receive.
