Excellent video! Mr. Heli is actually one of my favorite HuCard games. I'd recommend a game on the PCE CD called Star Mobile. It's a really fun and simple puzzle game that uses scales and stars of varying color and weight. You have to put the specified number of stars on the scale to clear each stage, a very interesting concept and pretty challenging too. Plus, it's cheap!
Thumbs up for the clayful Terry S Taylor soundtrack! Mr Heli I can totally get behind, it feels like a fresh blend of shooting and almost platform style exploration. Obocchama-kun is perfectly playable, the absurdity is probably its strength. I wish the level types were more varied though, it feels repetitive too fast to be really fun. Inexpensive though, and I like the humour better than Ken-Chan/ Kato-Chan. Have you played Gomola Speed? That’s a must when it comes to unique game design. My tip for shooters under the radar is Final Blaster from Namco. Feels like their answer to the -Soldier series, with branching paths added. A few little references to Xevious and Galaga can be found, it’s a fun game and not insanely hard at first.

I had the American release of legend of hero tonma when I was getting turbo stuff from turbo zone direct. I wish I had all my turbo games now. I had a lot of the ones that are valuable today. But back in the 90s it was just another dead system that I happened to like. No one knew that they would be worth so much to collectors today. My box of games is in a friend's shed and we can't find them. I would feel like I won the lottery if I found that box now.
Sometimes these hidden gem videos are mislabeled and show a bunch of popular games. I haven't heard of any of these and they all look fun. Awesome work!
Good list. Psycho Chaser is one of those game I never hear anbody about. I don't think I ever got past stage 4 so your comment on the difficulty made me chuckle. I always dismissed Mr. Heli because it looked like a mediocre shmup, but seeing it's a platformer gives it a whole different perspective. I will definitely check that one out. Another platformer I would consider a must play is Jigoku Meguri aka Bonze's Adventure if you've never heard of it.
Yes do more pc engine or turbografx 16 games!! It's my favorite console of all time!! While everyone had the genesis and SNES I had the turbografx 16!!!! And everyone loved it!! I mean credit card games!!! So awesome!!!!
