I took my 07 Versa in for a recall on air bags my ac WAS working when I dropped it off but when I picked it back up that same the ac wasn't working .I call the Dealership told them that they had done something to make the ac stop working the Manager call me and told me to bring the car back and he would have his Technician look at it. The next day the manager called me and told me that it was not nothing they had done that it was electrical problems that they could fix it but I would have to pay for it 😥 so I told the manager that I would have to talk to my husband First . So I Decided to Google what could make my ac go out on a 07 Nissan versa and BOOM there was your video and after watching your video I knew that they had to unhook the battery to change the airbags I called the manager back and told him that I would just pick the car up so I picked the car up and done what you said to do and OMG it worked!!! Thank you so much Charles

You just helped out my mechanic lmao. He was surprised that this year still required manual reset. Usually its all electronic. Doesnt even say anything about it in the repair manual.

The reason why this works is because.....did you know that when you turn on your defrost the ac turns on without the light coming on. So there is a program conflict between the ac defrost switch and the regular ac switch. Simple reset 👌 saved my ass......

When I did it with the engine off as soon as i started it up that little yellow light came on and I had cold air blowing in my Versa in this 100+ Texas heat. Thanks man I hope many others see this video and save some $$$$
The 2007-2009 climate hvac control dash part is discontinued because of how prone to fail it is. Since the 2007-2009 are 11 years old now, locate the 2010-12 updated version that has a small orange graphic on one dial related to using defrost setting. It is a challenging job that requires snap ring pliers, 90 angle hose pliers, and small fingers. Good luck.
In South Africa they are called Nissan Tiida, if you change the battery your air conditioner switches off. To reset the above method don't work here, what you do IN SOUTH AFRICA is turn the ignition on AND the fan and HOLD the air conditioner button IN until the light on the switch comes on. If the light doesn't come on, then run the engine and keep pressing the button and that should work. The garage wanted to charge me R4,500.00 for a control unit!
I've had the same problem with my tiida in México, and everytime I fix it the same way as you. Sometimes it lasts few minutes holding the button until it turns on. Next time I'm going to try the way this video suggests.
Freaking life saver. I changed battery out and AC switch went off. I've been sweating for days until now. Versa is so weird sometimes. My defrost and AC switches haven't worked in years but as long as AC switch stays on I'm good.

I have the same problem the button doesn't work but by turning it to defrost like you did the AC lite came back on and I was able to put it back to Vent position and it works fine. Thanks
