The little sounds in the background, I like to believe that they are the voices of harmonizing angels like you see in old west films during a song like the ecstasy of gold from the good, the bad and the ugly, but in this the voices are all distorted and cutting out because the old west gunslinger days are dying out, and this is the last time one of the greatest will fight
I love this, it reflects Triggernometry from RDR1, which also was a weird sort of mash-up track with themes throughout the game playing in a disjointed, electronic manner. It sorta makes me think the High Honor, Go For The Money Ending is canon, with Micah's eye getting slashed and this track playing.
High honor is the only true way to play the other endings don’t suit the name of the game as Arthur is never redeemed and is instead shot/stabbed to death like a rabid animal.

This was made so well. While running through the cave and fighting him. Arthur is probably confused with what he’s doing, and hesitating as he originally was helping join and seeking redemption to doing the opposite. His honor is being challenged and so are his thought. I think It's more like he's letting his rage cloud his judgement, and letting the beast within loose to fight a truly evil Satanic Archetype. High Honor, Arthur wants Micah to pay for what he did to the gang, and for all the evil he has caused. Even Low Honor Arthur is still noticably better than Micah Bell.

I feel like this song is like Arthur’s world falling apart, his father figure is trying to kill him for someone who came only 6 months ago. And in this ending he’s staying in the breaking world because he just can’t leave it but in the high honor ending where he saves John he’s helping John escape the breaking world
just close your eyes and imagine being there, fighting for an actual ammount of $3.5m in a duel to death with knives against a traitor and a person u never liked while your ass is bleeding out, everything around you set on fire, a whole army of pinkertons approaching, Being the last of the few times that you will feel resentment and anger in your life, knowing that you are going to die because your father figure is betraying you, simply epic.
I've always seen the voices in the background as echoes of vivid memories. Specifically, they include his conversations with people both inside and outside of the gang. As he recalls his past and all the connections he once had, The fragmented and unintelligible nature of the voices mirrors not only the deteriorating state of the gang but also Arthurs relationships with the people he has known throughout his life...standing amidst a camp that was once vibrant with life and filled with those he held closest, it now burns to ashes, .it's as if his entire life is replaying before him, however, it's not a quick flashback; it's a slow and prolonged, mirroring the pace of his impending death.
The theme for the fight on the mountain is heroic: Arthur is using the last of his strength to defend his only remaining friend and is trying to avenge all of his fallen ones even at deaths door. This theme is dark and unsettling, there's nothing left anymore, money or not: The Gang is done and their hideout is on fire. All that remains in Arthur's life is anger and pure violence.
This song always stuck out to me, and I think it's mainly because you're playing the game all normal, shooting people and listening to western music, and you get to this part and all of the sudden you're listening to a crunchy synth-wave with harmonic background noise, it seemed so out of place but so right at the same time.
I never unterstood why on micahs artwork hes holding schofields instead of his trusted "vengeance is hereby mine" double action revolvers his eyes still look menacing as hell tho
The artwork is always done before the game comes out and finalizes their designs, they're all featuring their beta designs. The character Micah's style is based off had two Schofield revolvers in "3:10 to Yuma"

The only thing I saw in Arthur’s last stand was two men trying to kill each other: either with their bare hands, batting each other’s face in while Arthur tries to think everything is gonna be okay while he knows that the walls are closing in and it’s over. Or the other way. Two men trying to brutally kill each other, swinging their knives desperately trying to gut each other while the fire slowly closes in, just like the walls. Micah was always a horrible man with poor morals: “All there is is living and dying, black lung.” Arthur on the other hand, is a good man doing the wrong thing for the right cause and good life morals: “Revenge is a fool’s game.” Micah and Arthur have always been pure opposites. Arthur had a black hat, blue shirt, and dark pants. Micah had a white hat, red shirt, and light pants.

I remember when I was listening to theme 1, someone said that the violin that plays in that theme was Arthur, and the dark guitar under it was Micah, and they were both pushing against each other. In this theme, you can hear more of the guitar, because Micah has the advantage. But through that guitar, broken pieces of music play, which is Arthur, still fighting for the gang while the camp goes up in flames.
Some would say it’s out of place. But I think it fits perfectly. In the fight everything you have worked for is in flames. And you’re fighting the one that destroyed everything (pretty much). The music is just hated for Micah, and I love it. (Didn’t get this ending but I still)

I recommend everyone to replay this mission (ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE HELPED JOHN WITH HIGH HONOR AS YOUR ORIGINAL ENDING) then select the go for money "make sure you have high honor this time too tho or micah will KILL YOU...be careful....thats all im saying....make sure your honor is high while you are playing as john in the epilogue
When you have low Honor Arthur is full of anger but also greed, if the Option said go back for revenge instead of the money I would, but again revenge was something Arthur could've understood.
My playthroughs these days start low honor and only really pivot there in Chapter 6. So naturally, Arthur succumbs to his burning hatred and goes back into the hell of the camp searching for Micah. But I will maintain, it’s not a completely selfish choice. In fact, here’s how I see it. You could do a last stand against the Pinkerton army OR, change things up, charge down that hill and kill so many more of them, making so much noise nobody is going to notice John sneaking away. Besides, Micah Bell deserves to be dealt a crippling injury. A one eyed gunslinger is not long for that life, and it stands as a testimony to the man’s skill that he didn’t die in the 8 years between game and epilogue. John gets away clean, Micah thinks of Black Lung Morgan every day he lives, and Arthur dies well but not absolved of his sins, not entirely. A fitting ending.
Y'know, the theme for this fight when you go with John really does evoke a last-stand to protect someone you care about, and a last struggle against what you hate most. Arthur knows he's dying, but he's committed himself to do good one last time. The strings really draw that tragic heroism out. This though? It feels like his hatred has consumed him just as much as his sickness. The dulled out beat, haunting distorted cries and screams, it really feels like Arthur's barely even a person at this point, just a personification of some form of diseased vengeance.

When I first played Red Dead Redemption 2 on the first mission and saw Micah. I knew that he was an enemy of Dutch’s gang.
He has that destinct look of chaos in his eyes
This is one of the most unique and unsettling tracks in the game. A perfect end to a low honor playthrough.
This song is befitting of two great evils battling each another for superiority and the scraps of what once made their lives whole.
Micah is basically Arthur's evil counterpart where's Arthur has high and low honnor Micah has no honnor at all also their clothes are completely the opposite
Rockstar have set the bar so high with this game

I think instead of “go back for the money” the option should have called “go back for revenge” cause the money was useless to Arthur as he was already a dying man.
When I saw the option I thought it would have led to Arthur burning the money so that neither dutch nor Micah would ever get to enjoy a single cent as revenge.
Arthur isn't bad, he's just made of anger and hatred.

I recommend everyone to replay this mission (ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE HELPED JOHN WITH HIGH HONOR AS YOUR ORIGINAL ENDING) then select the go for money "make sure you have high honor this time too tho or micah will KILL YOU...be careful....thats all im saying....make sure your honor is high while you are playing as john in the epilogue

When you have low Honor Arthur is full of anger but also greed, if the Option said go back for revenge instead of the money I would, but again revenge was something Arthur could've understood.

My playthroughs these days start low honor and only really pivot there in Chapter 6. So naturally, Arthur succumbs to his burning hatred and goes back into the hell of the camp searching for Micah.
But I will maintain, it’s not a completely selfish choice. In fact, here’s how I see it. You could do a last stand against the Pinkerton army OR, change things up, charge down that hill and kill so many more of them, making so much noise nobody is going to notice John sneaking away.
Besides, Micah Bell deserves to be dealt a crippling injury. A one eyed gunslinger is not long for that life, and it stands as a testimony to the man’s skill that he didn’t die in the 8 years between game and epilogue.
John gets away clean, Micah thinks of Black Lung Morgan every day he lives, and Arthur dies well but not absolved of his sins, not entirely. A fitting ending.
Y'know, the theme for this fight when you go with John really does evoke a last-stand to protect someone you care about, and a last struggle against what you hate most. Arthur knows he's dying, but he's committed himself to do good one last time. The strings really draw that tragic heroism out. This though? It feels like his hatred has consumed him just as much as his sickness. The dulled out beat, haunting distorted cries and screams, it really feels like Arthur's barely even a person at this point, just a personification of some form of diseased vengeance.
