Anthony Callea probably the most underrated Australian male artists.
You need to see Anthony do this on his own. Have seen him perform this many times over the years and as amazing as this is it’s got nothing on him on his own. He’s holding back in this performance. There’s so much power to his voice.

Is Tina only 5'2. I have breifly met her twice. Once at a singing in the early 90s but she was sitting down and then at her concert at the Perth Entertainment centre a few days after her friend Michael Hutchence (inxs) passed away and she walked through the audience to a small stage at back of floor seating to sing 3 songs including Never Tear Us Apart from Inxs. On the way to the stage she shook my dads hand. In those days u could stand between the different sections of seating
Anthony is second generation Australian, was runner up of 2004 Australian Idol. Tina was one of the original team on Young Talent Time, based in Melbourne in the 70s.

@@anjab8816 No, his parents are Italian. My father first thought it was a Maltese surname as he is Maltese. Then he realised it's Italian, not Maltese. We know Maltese folks with the surname 'Calleja'. Very easy to get it mixed up at a first glance on TV.
Hope by now you’ve been told all about the amazing Anthony Callea. He was runner up in the second series of Australian Idol the year after Guy Sebastian won. Anthony has a truly amazing voice. Hope you’ve checked him out. So glad you like Guy too. I’ve been lucky enough to see them both in concert as well as our darling John Farnham who I’ve seen more times than I can remember. Still praying for him to recover completely from his cancer.

Anthony did an amazing job singing 'The Prayer' at Burt Newton's funeral. You could see and hear it coming from his very soul. Had me in tears. He's phenomenal.
This is stunning. Anthony Callea’s version from Australian Idol is my all time fav version of The Prayer. I bought his song as soon as Sony released it. The kids and I belt it out in the car with the windows down and it turned right up! ( though we sound a little different 😉😁). So proud of home grown Aussie talent Anthony and Tina! ❤️

I've said it befire & I'll say it again; Tina Arena has some huge pipes on her such a fantastic voice! Her soft voice is so different from when she really opens up & belts thise chords out. Absolutely beautiful and rich voice. Arguably Anthony is probably one of the top 5 most successful Australian Idol contestant along with Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy

This is my favourite rendition of the prayer that I’ve ever heard. I love it so much because , especially at the end, it is kept quiet , delicate and prayerful instead of being belted out ,like most of the big names do. Anthony Callera has a beautiful voice too.

Anthony & Tina were both child stars on Young Talent Time with well known singer and presenter Johnny Young. Both are of Italian / Australian heritage. Anthony has a spectacular tenor voice and his solo version of The Prayer from 2005 remains an all time Aussie Favourite. He performed this in front of Pavarotti when Luciano toured Australia, performing in Perth the same year, and after this Pavarotti invited him to come to Italy, where he wanted to 'introduce' him to that audience. Welcome to another blindingly bright Aussie Star! ( So many brilliant artists got their start on that show. Every child in Australia wanted to be on it and 'get discovered'! 😆)

I was at performing arts high school in the late 90’s with Anthony (think the musical/movie Fame), and he literally sounds EXACTLY the same as he did then, although he’s holding back a LOT in this rendition. Only thing that has changed is that he came out, and now lives his life in glorious, Technicolor camp.

I was 4 years old when I first heard Tina sing. She was 6. I was in love with her little show off ways and her voice. Even to this day, that pitch perfect voice has no equal for me. Above the angels!
