- I'm sharing my grandma’s Ukrainian Borscht Recipe I grew up eating in Ukraine every single week. This iconic red beet soup is made with beef (or vegetarian), cabbage, potatoes, carrots, garlic and dill, and then served with a dollop of sour cream and rye bread.

I love the fact that it's sweet and sour soup because I've always tried to make it right and it's like the sweet and sour part is so important and then some sour cream and some dill at the end yum

As a russian i can say that borsch is an iconic slav dish that tastes AMAZING. I genuinely recommend you try it.
The funniest thing is that it's also one of the best instant foods out there. You don't even need to cook your own borsch, as the instant powder version (especially the polish one) is like 80% as good as the real deal, super delicious

My grandmother was Russian , my grandfather was polish , and they used to cook Borsch for us , I am from Uruguay but I am very proud of my slav heritage .

My nan always told me stories about how my mum rescued to eat tomato soup as a kid so she would but beetroot juice in a bowl with a few other vegetables and told my mum it was borsht and she would rub it into her older sisters (the actual recipe was my grandmother, was made traditional Ukrainian borsht)

Might work if the soup is vegetables only. But this will obviously not work if it is based on broth, especially beef broth. Vegetable only borsch is just 1% of normal borsch.

No vinegar. No sugar. In traditional borscht. You forgot the beef!
