    Austin is a good example of usually one of the fastest riders on the track. However being fast is only half of the game. The other half is not crashing. It comes down to who can go the fastest without crashing.

    Ive always really liked Forkner, it sucks that his whole pro career has been riddled with injuries. Was lookin good this year too and then he had that gnarly crash.. and now his brain surgery.. dude is a beast! Hope he returns and can sail smoothly into retirement down the road!

      I hope his after riding career doesn't end up like Mike Healey. Knarly rider, Gunner was sort of similar and had a lot of knarly injuries. He just passed away, a tragedy but a cool guy to the fans. Pray for Austin is all you can do. Living with pain as you get older is HARD. I know all about it. Currently 5 different surgeries and counting on both legs. Sucks....

    I think you found a good TH-cam tutorial setup. You should do more of these even the old riders like Albee, Hugh’s, and Doug Henry. That was awesome video probably took awhile but that definitely worth it.

I really have a lot of respect for Austin and will be cheering him on this supercross season. Thank you for making this video and putting things into prospective for me. I really hope supercross starts putting dirt all the way up to the walls this year and injuries like Austin's can be greatly reduced to landing on dirt over concrete. • @EarthSurferUSA
      @EarthSurferUSA 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@motofevermedia1 I say the old numbering system was better. The numbers usually changed ever year, but from 1-99, you got the number by how you finished the series last year. A 2 and one digit number was something that was earned every year, and even if a fan had never seen a race before, he/she would know that a low number who got a bad start is worth watching come up the pack. IMO, they took away something that a rider earned. A good Damon Bradshaw line with the old numbering system, when he was #11. "I am going to lose one of these digits next year. It does not matter which one." :)

    • @motofevermedia1
      @motofevermedia1  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @EarthSurferUSA they are still earned numbers if you're top 10 in combined 250/450 points you can earn a career number. Everyone else who didn't earn or doesn't have a career number gets assigned numbers for the rest of the 2 digit numbers. So Tom Vialle was the first person outside the top 10 the season so he was assigned 16then Norren with 22 Harlan wit 23 and so on

    It’s very interesting and also very sad. This just shows what I’ve said so often is luck plays a part in all sports. Austin messed up on suspension and it cost him big. Most of this was suspension issues. He needs to have Honda set up his suspension no matter what he rides. He also never learned how to fall always going over the bars which is always deadly. You have to be able to think quick as you see the other pros do to have a career. 4 broken collar bones is a huge warning. He has been hurt to bad and to many doctors bills to even mess with the sport anymore. He needs to get a job and salvage what’s left of his life due to concussions. I know because I’ve had 5 concussions and now I have serious issues with balance, dizziness all the time, depression and anxiety. Life sucks because I’m never comfortable. That’s where he is headed in the next 10 years. Sad but true and what makes it even worse is he is already in debt so to make that money he has to ride beyond his means which will only cause another bad accident and the next head injury will probably be fatal.wHe needs to do the right thing and think of his family and his life and just live a normal life. If motocross was meant to be it would have already happened. Someone needs to wake this guy up so he can live his life

      One big problem is with pro riders, is when they retire, they don't know how to do anything else for money (seems bad today). The retire with the education of a HS drop out, like Ping. They can get a productive college degree while racing, and your mid gets stronger when you exercise it too. I did it myself. But they don't care.

      @mxedits1601 it's crazy to think about honestly. You look at someone like Jett and he easily could've had a similar path. That first sx crash he had where he broke his collar bone while trying to hold off DF14 and get his first win could've been the start of the same pattern Austin has had. But fortunately for Jett he has been able to keep himself relatively healthy. Now we see Jett as the best rider in the country and Austin as washed and what's crazy about that is that Jett started racing professionally after Austin and is younger too.
