I witnessed the Arlington crash from front row. Fkn gnarly. Austin is going to have a hell of a redemption arc and I'm all for it. So glad he's still in good spirits and not giving up after all he's been through. Heart like a lion. I'll be getting some Forkner merch.
@beaud.b2822we don’t have to do better to see the consistency issues for a whole season. He is however stupid fast when he isn’t on the ground. I respect the commitment

I don't think that's why. I think it's because he's a similar muscle type to roczen. Austin is a monster early in races, fades bc he's a fast twitch guy. He can train as much as he wants but a sprinter will never be a long distance runner and same for a long distance runner turning into a sprinter. That's what makes the end of races so exciting, some are building at the end of races (deegan/webb) and some are fading (roczen/forkner)

Forkner has always been fast as hell but will never wrap my head around his injury and crash curse... Genuinely feel bad for him for getting the shit end of the stick. It has to take a hell of a lot of determination to have so many gnarly crashes and come back so hungry every time. Respect to the dude big time, can't imagine what the pro life is like privateer or factory.
Love the vid Gypsy! You should try to get Ty Masterpool in soon, or maybe after this MX season. I've heard bits and pieces of his story but I think you'd be able to give more fans a greater understanding of his life and story over the last few years
From now on a big fun of Forkner! So authentic and so honest about everything he spoke about! On of the best episodes ever! I wish the best for the future mate!!
Love the pod. Why is there such a delay between YT upload and Spotify? Is it deliberate? Or just a tech thing. Would be sick for them to go up same time as I prefer to download and listen as it’s kinder to my phones battery whilst I listen at work.
I raced Karts for a number of years. When Austin spoke about lap times and if you are locked in or it just comes as far as keeping a consistent lap time.. can confirm, you have to be locked in, hitting your marks every single lap. You have to stay on the exact race line and not a bit wide around a corner or your lap time is down. Even at the speed of a kart, being just off is going to limit the lap time. Imagine a berm blowing out, you come for the corner slower. Well, cars are effected the same if you come in to fast, it causes a slow exit and you loose time to the kart/car in front/ behind.
I honestly think outdoors should be during the winter months and supercross during the summer. Your racing at night with supercross a little cooler temps and outdoors with colder temps. Fans can enjoy more, riders will enjoy it more so they do not heat stroke.
I'm a fan and always have been I actually raced in professional not at your level. But every symptoms that you speak of I've had the coughing up blood was my scarred moment I'm going to a different doctor thanks to you. I'm a fan and hope the best for you. The breathing thing to !! On the topic of muscles not firing/being extremely weak, despite efforts to strengthen. I had major trauma to my back from a dirtbike accident years ago. Long story short, there are very few doctors who know about it, but there is a technique that will re-sync your nerves, and “turn your muscles back on”. It sounds stupid and crazy, I know.
