Folsom CA residents, politicians, and land developers have been trying to shutdown Hang Town (AKA Prairie City OHV) in Rancho Cordova, CA which is 10 miles south of Folsom for dust. That's right, dust! They complain the dust travels in the air and is upsetting.

I grew up in OC Cal. Raced Saddleback all the time. I thought it would be there for a long time, it was just so popular. I pray my current popular track will be there a long, long, time. Glen Helen.

We used to race at Corona Raceway every Friday night, and Saddleback on Saturday (SSM) and Sunday. This was in the "80's and the riding scene was in full swing as you also had Escape Country. The SSM races (Saddleback Saturday MX) were brutal; 2 X 45-minute motos!

Great video. I’m in Wisconsin and we have watched all Motorsports tracks dwindle in the last 25 years. Lots of reasons for it. Waning interest and changing demographics is way up there. Development has chewed up a lot of tracks. Lake Geneva was once the boonies but development kept creeping in. Now houses occupy that space. There was talk of moving the track to Great Lakes Dragaway but the Town Board would not let them do it. Speaking of Great Lakes, the land the track occupies (120 acres) is worth millions. Mansions and a large solar farm have crept in. The owners are both getting up there in age. When will they just say “F**K IT” and sell to a developer? Recreational Immunity in Wisconsin has saved the snowmobile trails but development, lack of snow, and an aging enthusiast population is killing the program. And one last thing, stop voting for lawyers! Get off your butts and join the fight with your time and your dollars.

I know I’m dating myself, but multiple NorCal & Central Valley tracks went away in the past 30 years.

Sadly, this is happening all around the country. They’re either turning into private “training facilities” with maybe 2-3 public practice events a year (lame), or they’re going under due common issues we’re seeing. Price of land has become too great (as with the cost of everything) to get brand new Mx facilities.

The AMA needs to get with all the bike manufacturers and start lobbying to get insurance companies to step up and to grant immunity to track owners and to cities that want to build MotoX tracks. Like they do with skate parks. Its really not rocket science as to what needs to be done. The skate parks are a great business model to follow. The biggest problem California has in regards to Moto tracks are the Liberal environmentalist who hate anything that run on gas. I'm personally not against electric bikes but its just not for me, granted, they are fast and fun for about a half hour? Then I want my gas powered bike back between my legs. I had to put up with this once before when they took my 2 stroke away and I had to ride a banger. Give the an inch and they take a mile, nothing will be good enough for them. Switch to electric and they will bitch about something else. Just my thoughts. Take care. Hawk out!!

Keep voting Democrat and you won't have any Moto tracks at all. Our wonderful California governor will make sure of that. You yourself know the reasons the track up in Santa Barbara was shut down and you can't even say it?

Organized riding areas are having a major problem securing insurance carriers, not just California, it's happening all over currently.
