  • Serama chickens , a very small bantam-sized chicken. Super friendly and easy to keep as pets with a few guidelines....don't feed them after midnight! JK :-)
    Ready to go NO-WASTE feeder.. amzn.to/2PZWhUD DIY kit here 👇👇👇 amzn.to/2qzhE4u
    This is the 36" soft dog crate that you see in the video. On the plus side the see through panels have a tighter weave so there shouldn't be as much dust being output by the birds....On the negative the cloth seems to very tight on this and it didn't go together all that well....but once locked in place, seems solid.

    It's super easy nowadays to record video and upload to YT. Here's the items I'm using right now. Just using an Samsung S10 as my camera. I bought a microphone stand to mount my phone on while I record. It takes a couple adapters so you can swivel the direction however you like...but worked out really slick. Here's the components.
    Mic Stand with 5/8 thread - amzn.to/2Bril1Y
    1/4 inch to 5/8 inch adapter - amzn.to/2BuHSaQ
    Neewer low-profile Ball Head 360 - amzn.to/2VXD0Et
    Universal Metal Phone Tripod Mount - amzn.to/2pA6Qms
    LED Architect Desk Lamp - amzn.to/2BrPcEb
    This is the best BT earbuds I've ever owned...I know expensive...but I'm also using the built-in mic while recording videos and it works great. - amzn.to/2N0w59x

    Chickens can be certified emotional support animals too. They are great for anxiety relief, low maintenance and bond very well to owners. I so badly want a serama but I rescued a peep from it's psycho mom rejecting him. I've secretly raised him indoors and is very quiet and well mannered. He is almost potty trained too.

    I love my ceramics. They're so sweet and friendly and cute they're like puppy dogs. I have my 6 months old ones sitting around on the couch cuddled up for Christmas just three of them and the older ones are outside and I really cozy cozy Hutch with light bulbs and infrared heater and that they can get close to if they want to be warm.

    • @MiniatureChickenChannel

      They were probably keeping a close eye on if treats were going to be offered :-) Not sure if smarter....but the more time you spend with them....the more attentive they appear/act

    Hi, can you tell me how they ever bathe? Don't chickens require dust baths? Thank you!

    • @MiniatureChickenChannel
      @MiniatureChickenChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't say it's "required".....I catch them trying to dust bathe in the shavings every now and then 🙂

      @@MiniatureChickenChannel thanks for the reply! We have an indoor “coop”, and we put a covered litter box in there with a combination of topsoil, masonry sand, and a very small amount of diatomaceous earth. They love it. I never knew they could make a “purring” sound!

    IM REALLY LATE BUT what do you feed a miniature chicken i took on the job after rescuing my baby from the street in chicago. Someone dumped her and she had cuts, I’ve had her for about 2 years but I feel like I haven’t got her diet right.

    • @MiniatureChickenChannel
      @MiniatureChickenChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hazel....all of mine get 16% crumble chicken feed mixed with scratch grains.....and then you can give them treats like meal worms and such......

  • @theresamichels8716
    @theresamichels8716 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also, is it better to have a certain number of hens? Two, three? Thanks!

    • @choronzon.333
      @choronzon.333 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With serama it doesnt really matter. They are very social and friendly birds. My roosters seek attention more than the hens but the hens LOVE cuddles too. Any number is fine except 1. They need friends.

    • @MiniatureChickenChannel
      @MiniatureChickenChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@choronzon.333 Totally agree....they will be waaay happier with at least 1 friend....but the pecking order still applies for these little guys too lol

    • @MiniatureChickenChannel

      @MiniatureChickenChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just a soft dog crate..I have the 36 inch long version....when I bought it, it was at 70 bucks...I see they've raised it. What you want is one with a very fine mesh on the panels....or else you'll have "dust" issues....depending on what type of bedding your using. I use pine...sometimes aspen (expensive)... amzn.to/2vB8HKG
