Great stuff! I notice you are using Sennheiser headphones. I am looking to get either the HD6xx or Beyerdynamic 1990 Pro. Do have any experience with those for sound design/mixing?
I used to use Beyerdynamics the DT 990 Pro but moved to the HD650s. According to Sonarworks they have the flattest response of any headphone on the market (there maybe newer models that are better but this was from a few years ago). I absolutely love them. I can trust them and they are super comfortable for long sessions.
@@ExcellentEdgesScissorCo nice! Yeah I really like the beyerdynamic build and everything but I keep hearing they are too bright. Which could be a problem when mixing.
Thank you for this great review, Benni! Would you trust the NX monitoring enough to deliver a 5.1 film mix for distribution? How good is it? My studio setup is stereo, but clients are asking more and more about 5.1, so I am considering my options.
It's risky if you can't monitor it somewhere with 5.1. Do you have a place you can go to check your mixes? Even the first few times just to make sure they are translating. Send me an email. I could check your mixes in my studio for a fee.
Was wondering if you mixed thru a cheaper 5.1 home theater system in your studio instead of traditional monitors, would that give the same effect as these plug in programs are doing almost?
You can definitely print surround stems without having a multichannel interface. Always a good idea to double check your mixes in surround though. I could help you with that as well.
Putting Waves Audio Abbey Road 5.1 or NX Germano is MASSIVE CPU hungry. My processor is maxing out and that doesn't usually happen with almost all my plugins. I can't even run this on Audio Only! I've got a Intel i7-6700HQ 2.6ghz, 32 gb ram, 2 TB M.2 computer.
Where were you usually put your vocals at and bass kick instruments snare high hats gunshots and all those effects Do you have a template kind of to give people an idea

This is the best demo I’ve seen of this system. Thank you.
Thanks for this! Informative little video!
For film distribution i guess it's impossible to calibrate the system. The only way to fix could be to compare levels with others movies ?

Have you ever had trouble getting waves plug ins to be found in pro tools, I can see the NX stock one but not the Germano or Abbey road
Would you consider making a tutorial on Fairlight integration with Waves NX virtual studio ?
Possibly. Is anyone else interested in a video like this?
@@benniknop yes~

What's yout opinion on the Sony MDR-MV1 headphones as surround sound monitors por pre dubbing?
Never tried them. Anyone else have experience with them? You want to get the flattest headphones you can or use SoundID (Sonarworks) to get them flat.

I would never trust a cheap home theatre. They are normally boosted in the low and high range with no mids. Your mixes wouldn’t translate.
Are your headphones going through your audio interface or the computers headphone jack?
2 channel audio interface is enough can we print 5.1 mix using nx plugin???

Might wanna check your buffer size my bro
Thanks for this Video! Anyone uses it with davinci resolve 19?
Better than dear VR?
Haven’t used Dear Vr in this way. Not sure it works that way.

I’m planning on building some courses soon. Just been building a new studio.
Are you more into music mixing or audio post for film and TV?
@@benniknopaudio post for film and tv please. Please very little on it online!
