      It works in all DAWs that have immersive tracks with VST3. So Ableton, Davinci Resolve, Logic Pro, Reaper and many others.

    so to sum it up, each of your tracks (DX, FX, etc) has their own 5.1/stereo mixing like reverb and LFE to control the surround sounds, you also have VCA groups to control the overall amount of the sounds/reverb, and you sent all of that to their respective masters in 5.1 and stereo. what i'm confused is how do I know which tracks to send to 5.1 and stereo because there's so many routing that I might mix things up, and also for your masters did you create their own outputs also?

    Not really a good comparison. First of all, you have to set RX to "Dialogue" mode. You had it set to "Music". Then with RX, the best way to do it is to setup a loop of your ambient noise, which you had at the beginning of each of these scenarios, and click the "Learn" button. This is how RX shines. After unclicking Learn I guarantee all of the background noises in every one of your scenarios would have completely disappeared. That being said, Clarity is awesome in it's own right no doubt, but just felt it was an unfair comparison for anyone interested in both of them.

    The problem with your 28 second SHORT you FAILED to show where og how yo got to that SCREEN. A little for though for DaVinci Newbes woould go a long way. Might have Subed if you had.

    I’m very interested in this plugin and have tried both in demo version. Maybe it’s the steep price tag, I think Pro version is working better on vocals, the vocals sound more full, and with even cleaner background - as it should, considering the price jump 😆 However I was comparing back and forth under solo mode , I believe the audible difference will be reduced to none once the music starts playing altogether, the vocals can always be edited to have a fuller body with EQ or plugins.

    Just a quick question, I love your template by the way and it's great to work with ! I seem to be lacking level on the overall mix, is there a way to boost the overall master of a 5.1 mix just so it compatible with the LUFS requirement ? Any help would be amazing. cheers. Mark

    Great video on a basic overview, but it would have been nice to see more action...cleaning up a dialog track, or editing music. I'm very curious about the "old style" setup you mention at 7:14. I've been on Xynergi controllers for 15+ years and 'Old style' could be very familiar. I'd also like to know if you can do custom assignments of keys. It was an "under the hood" job on the old Xynergis, but several power users came up with some super fast layouts depending on what you main job was - dialog, fx or music editing.

    As a music producer and engineer, I've long wondered why there's not a more standardized product/workflow for multicam recording in sync- it seems that for years the only technically feasible way was 100k plus of pro-television production equiptment; obviously we're getting closer and closer, but compatibility seems to be all over the map. Final Cut for iOS has introduced the ability to record and edit multicam from multiple apple devices wirelessly, which is amazing but it seems, exclusively "semi-pro", as there's no obvious way to get a 4k camera signal going into that feed from a non apple device. Blackmagic has a pci capture card that can be paired with various softwares, some of which are 10's of thousands of dollars for enough licenses to actually do anything useful (Softron Movie Recorder ingest, for example), and while I have the ATEM mini pro ISO, it only has the bandwidth to cut 1080p ISO's to ssd, and combining with OBS is a much more complicated remote switching fiasco, were you to attempt it. In short, there's no such simple process for ingesting high quality video for both live picture and synced iso recording as there is for doing the same with digital audio sources.

    Hey Benni, I think you should be working with REW first to help position your sub optimally before running SoundID. You're going to get much better results, even SoundID can't recover/boost its way out of a null like that. Thanks for the video. Very useful to see how it works.

    It is difficult to ask this question. I'm about to record a feature-length documentary. Some sequences will be recorded as recreations with the real characters, who are not professional actors, so the director will speak during the shoot to give them instructions. I have warned how problematic this can be for the post. Have you faced similar situations? What do you recommend to help the post team taking this situation into account?

      If that’s the case you’re going to just need more time in post to fill those gaps. If you have time, you could redo the actions they do in the same space with the same items so you record a library of sounds for your post mixer. Most directors will care more about the visuals, so you just need to make sure they give you time in post to recreate all the scenes with sound.

    So can this be done live for pa audio for the FOH? Concerts should become atmos, and I'm looking for a solution how to upmix the stereo tracks from the Artists on Stage which only provides Stereo Signal with a great result on atmos speaker setup

      Delay compensation may make this an issue for live. You’re probably better panning instruments and using things like delays and reverbs to make it more immersive.

    Still a little confused about the down mix to stereo here, the 5.1 master isn't been sent to the stereo down mix , therefore there are no levels going into the stereo down mixes. When I mix down there is absolutely nothing on the stereo render. What am I doing wrong ? thanks in advance Benni !

      Sorry for the delay. Are you using my template or have you built it yourself? You can send audio to multiple buses/masters by hold down control (from memory) and clicking separate outputs. It’ll add a tick next to them.

      Also make sure you’re exporting the right output. On my template, you need to export 2.0 DX, 2.0 FX and so on.

      @@benniknop Great thanks a lot all sorted. Just another small question. With the grouped FX sends, when using the two A sends to create the immersive sound you mention altering the second reverbs pre delay by about 30, the trouble is when I do this, because it is linked to the first A reverb, this changes its pre delay also. So I can't have the second delay at a different pre delay setting, hope that makes sense !

      @@MarkSmith-re4he​​⁠interesting. You could use delay compensation on the track. It’s not as good because the sound and reverb are the exact same but with 30 ms delay comp. Use a delay plugin before the reverb and delay it 30ms. Just make it a one shot delay

    Hi small question. The channels on the stereo Down mix aren’t receiving any signal at all and don’t print their mixes. Is their anything else I need to be doing to allow the stereo channels to receive audio I. Order to export the stereo down mix ?

    Do you have any videos on the Blackmagic rotary knob control surface? I'm having a bit of trouble finding any videos on it! It seems like it can be a game changer for those in a Music Production Studio! With the option to use each column specifically for the assigned track, along with the specific track's plugins is a fully analog workflow! Like WOW, i mean ALL other control surfaces use one specific set of knobs to control each of the individual track and track plugins; by selecting the track needed. The select a track workflow requires thinking and tends to kill my creative process! I can't seem to get lost in the music this way! One can't get lost in the music without using muscle memory, and thinking about choosing a track is not it! The way i see it, is get two 12 fader units and two of the knob units. Set them into my desk and work fully analog ITB! Only problem is if they are not linkable to keep adding faders and knobs to keep expanding, the channel count! I would love to see someone using it like i said with having each channel a fader and set of knobs like a real console has! Anyways, can you do a video on the rotary knob unit! Also, see if they can link up together, by making the first column of faders on the fader unit, and first column of rotary knobs on the rotary knob unit are both on the same channel (Channel One), and so-on! If it does work its control would be just like a console with separate knobs and faders on each channel just like a console unit, but in a digital setting!

      I’m a Mac person. These days it really doesn’t matter. Computers are way faster than what you need for audio.

    yeah im not boutta spend 200 dollars for a upmixer found the updated brother to dolby digital home theater v4 called dolby digital plus home theater comes with pro logic 2 im just gonna stick with that
