it's designed to fly back to RC Era headquarters so they can resell it.
😂😂😂😂
Seems like a blocked barometer to me. I got a optical flow model to help maintain position but I think the altitude position is done by a barometer. If a barometer is blocked or defective then it will keep going up ...if that operates off of a baromeeter
I recently ordered one and before it arrived I was doing some research on this helicopter and I came across several videos with this problem, this scared me but I had faith that mine would arrive without this defect. Finally it arrived and I made the first flights with caution. The truth is that it flies wonderfully. Even so, I have continued researching and I realized that there are two versions, one that comes with an optical sensor and another that does not. Mine arrived without it and flies beautifully. I think only those that come with the optical sensor have had the problem.
Holy moly! Glad it worked out. Curious to find out results after you investigate
Wow. This same happened to me 3 times. I got a new transmitter but it flew away again today. Got it back with a lot of collective down stick.
That was crazy!
Wow, really lucky the winds aloft didn't take it to the next country! I see frost on ground so am wondering if maybe the barometric pressure sensor was affected by cold and then as the "flight" continued it gradually warmed up the internals enough to start working again???
Lol..glad you got it back.
Whaaoou .....c'était chaud ton first fly , tu t'en ais bien sortie Bravo super Andrej
Yeah, it seems that something is not OK with this helicopter/flight controller. I will have to investigate ...
Yes my friend, i understand you are my best pilot and i'm happy to follow your advice @@AndrejSturm
Merci Mon Ami de Slovénia ..Je te Souhaite de Belles Fetes de Noel !🤩😘
Very cool
I ❤Word , To the moon 😂
My md500 is coming soon did you calibrate the controls before pressing the take off button?,throttle etc then both sticks to.
I am not sure if I did, but now I always calibrate it before each flight.
Have the same problem ,5 nice flights but 6 start was a "fly away " hit in a big tree! Whats the problem?
Thercsailors had the same problem too
Quem e o md500
.... Before starting I hear a double beep. that's not normal. (left stick up - down ... beep = normal) but then come a double beep - Error ?? at 0:15
Would removing the auto take off button from the transmitter solve this ?
Probably not. But removing the battery certainly would stop it! 😉😊
My goodness! Unbelievable how cool and quiet you managed this situation! No cursing, at least not loud, maybe in your mind! How could that this did not happen indoors. Is this collective pitch heli? And can you switch off all these electronic helps like Altitude hold, stability mode? The transmitter does seem to work different on the Throttle/collective pitch side (left in mode two) compared to a "traditional" manual flown Collective Pitch heli.
I knew that a similar issue happened to someone who described it in RCG forum thread about this heli. He managed to get it back in a similar way, ... Yes, this is a collective pitch heli, no manual mode unfortunately. I don't really understand, indoors it was OK, outside such an issue. The only difference was temperature. Now I am afraid to test it again indoors ... The way this FC works is somewhat strange, the FC changes main rotor RPMs almost like on the FP helis but this is still not a FP heli. Yes, the left stick (collective) is self centering because this heli has altitude hold (just like transmitters that come with RTF CP helis from Flywing). I also noticed that this heli has a so called "TALY", just like OMPHobby and Goosky helicopters, quite advanced feature for a cheap heli.
@@AndrejSturm I can imagine that you have some doubts using it indoors now. I noticed the changing RPM during the whole flight. Almost never stable rpm. It looks really sweet, as well the other color schemes. But for me personally flying it would not be a big fun. I love the behaviour of helis flown in 3D mode without any help functions. But these are really looking great, also the rotor head!! Have fun and safe flights!!
@@AndrejSturmI am just speculating, but wondering if fly aways could be due to calibration error. I am guessing that when a calibration is performed, it also calibrates the barometric sensor to give everything a starting point. If one were to calibrate it at home for example, then take to location with different elevation it could be off and want to climb. Another theory is that the barometric sensor, could be sensing different pressure if hovering in slight breeze and the airflow around the helicopter can change somewhat the pressure sensed inside the enclosure, so if the p sensor is reset for zero at transmitter power up, if there is a slight or shifting breeze it could create erroneous pressure inside that is slightly different than actual ambient pressure. It would not take much as this sensor must be very very sensitive in order to sense a difference of less than a meter. I don't know, just a theory.
😮OMG, should have took it nice and steady man, just done circuits, say at 100ft,😊glad it came home❤😊
Up Up and Away!!! Truly a blood circulator !! Glad it came home!!
tell me bro what you need to click if there is such a situation?
Trigger on your paintball gun! 😁
next time put a mini camera inside so we can see the nice views from the moon :D
Andrej, not sure you'll see this but, I was on another channel (RC Saylors) and he had the same fly away with this as you did.
Yes, I have seen that video.
My md500 arrived today from China it was a pain to build with all the screws but yeah I tried a flight indoors, big mistake lol,now got marked blades but next flight in a big car park, much better,it's a awesome helicopter but just don't fly it indoors lol 😂
Since this comment I crashed mine, but ordering parts I fixed it myself, they are surprisingly easy to get parts for and repair.
Hi,you are very lucky,i lost my helicopter,i have search for 3 day,but nothing find. Now what is happened?i have buy enother one,fly good, but i have fear thet all that can happened again, how to avoid the problem?
I am sorry to hear that. I have the same fear now. I still don't know what the exact issue is (I have only made 3 flights with this heli so far).
at me happen after many battery recharge,20 flights or more, now i have 2 more heli, one at repainted work, the other one,the red and white,i try to convert in the Magnum PI version@@AndrejSturm
Maybe barometer issues(cold,vaporising)?
@@AndrejSturm
So what was that? Mine did similar thing, but inside the house:)
I don’t know what is the issue. I am now using a Radiomaster TX16S radio and no issues so far.
@@AndrejSturm what protocol for raiomaster?
@@user-ox3qf9cy9o E129 and sub protocol C186
I know about flyaways. Happened to two of my UAV’s.
Näin ei tapahdu kelläkkään juuri koskaan. Its very rare case...
!
I ordered two, one for me, the other as a gift, I tried both, the first flew without problem, the second left just on takeoff, complete loss of the radio signal, it went up without the slightest reaction to the commands, and he left, without me being able to do anything, I just hope he didn't hurt anyone!!
I asked Bangood for a replacement and we'll see what they have to say about that!!!
"the second left just on takeoff, complete loss of the radio signal" ... You DID do the most basic test before flying with a new RC toy, DIDN'T you? i.e. Clamp the landing gear to the table, power up, start the motors AND SWITCH OFF THE TRANSMITTER! After that (most) "flyaways" can be stopped simply by turning off the transmitter.
Won't help if the flight board programming is glitching for some reason though. For that you'd need a high current RC switch in the helicopter's battery line driven by a second small PWM receiver that could be controlled simultaneously by a second Module in the back of your Multi Protocol Radio. Flysky FS2A? That would have 3 more channels to deploy a parachute also. 😜😊
Very impressive ! Were you afraid at any point? That could have been dangerous, right ? 🙃
Not afraid just fully immersed into finding a solution in that situation.
@@AndrejSturm I understand... 😀
Almost $150 were flown away. 😓
This is exactly why I cancelled my order for one of these little helis. Too many reports of them doing the same thing.
That rc sailor guys same heli did the same thing. Now I know I'm not ordering one
Yeah but he's kind of goofy and did not perform calibration at flying locale just prior to launch and also used auto take-off which is lame, but who knows. He also crashed a big Huey that's pretty much a no-brainer to fly and naturally claimed it wasn't his fault. Highly dubious.
Same thing happened to another reviewer
lol everyone who has posted a video or reviewed had the same problem I don’t understand 😅
Bloody hell!!!!!!!!! Why?????? Just a bad radio link?
I think it's a FC issue, I got the heli yesterday. I did two short indoor hover flights and all was good. Today I did a maiden flight outside (cold morning) and this happened. I suspect that the FC (barometer) is temperature sensitive - a big change in temperature from inside to outside confuses something in the FC. But I am not sure, maybe I am wrong ...
@@AndrejSturm Ohh!!! Makes sense! I would have freaked out Andrej! I shot up so fast!!!!
This is a know fault . I know 3 cases plus mine . Rcera need to remedy this as a recall or update !!!
Got one of these and just love the looks of it and it flew decent indoors even with crap transmitter. Took it outdoors in light wind and noticed in some conditions the barometric altitude positioning seemed to keep the model from descending normally on command. It was like maybe the barometer was effected by wind turbulence, variations across the sensor. Nothing like what you experienced, a bit odd but manageable. The next day I went out and there was a bit more wind but I was keeping it within a sheltered area. At one point I forgot and went to high above treeline and the wind was stronger. Model could not go faster than wind even though it was on speed 3. It gradually drifted away from me in spite off my efforts to bring it back so when I lost sight I just put collective to bottom. Spent hours searching and never did find it so ordered another one. You were lucky the wind didn't take it far away.
Thanks for posting info I will use my TX-16 next time. I am suspecting the barometric hold sensor is maybe a potential fly-away problem here. Too bad there isn't a switch to turn off altitude hold.
Don't waste your money on this helicopter. Mine did that on about the tenth flight, Land button brought it down, then I had to do Emergency stop to get the blades to stop spinning. Next flight pressed the Takeoff button, it went full throttle and full forward until it tumbled into the ground, destroying the helicopter. Ten flights for $158, you do the math.
I had one and just tossed it in the trash. Don’t buy this thing
bro why?
Your missing out.A very good heli and a nice intro to the bigger helis
I will pay you to send it to me!
They are an awesome machine.I have had 50 flights and counting.Dont forget to calibrate
