*Well-made, delivered quickly, and easy to install with **Fastly.Cool** . I may be imagining it, but it seems quieter than the 14 year-old unit that I pulled out. Of course it was noisy at the end due to failed bearings, so hard to compare.*
This is the first time I have seen a rookie claim to be a roofer. You put the screws through the shingles instead of inside and you made a future leak and guess what? There goes your guarentee and now I get some more clients. Thanks for the video
Hi just have a question regarding installing a roof fan like u did on a residention roof that currently has 4 other vents on roof.....what do u do with the other vents? I was told you would plug them up but not sure i agree with it........if you plug up the other vents where is the air going to go when fan is not running?....any input?
Haha my thoughts exactly.. what the heck are you thinking sweeping all that into the attic on top of insulation? Just like foundation guys burying all their construction waste on your property.
Instead of using a clear silicone sealant you should use a roofing sealant made to be on a roof for years. Also seal all the way around the top half that shingles go over. Roofing sealant is cheap compared to having to fix someone leaky roof. Better safe than sorry!
Screwing through the shingles and depending on sealant???? I don't think that's the right way building your reputation, what happens after 1 year when the sealant comes off?
The sealant was clear, but it could be good roofing sealant and not $1.99 kind. And if so, it will last. I usually buy the best roofing sealant I can get and they do last...

I would rather remove the skirt and split one side to allow it to collapse into itself when installing it under the shingle/paper. Then we're not having to rely on a sealer to keep the integrity of the roof intact.
You used a utility knife and cut through both the shingles and the tar paper then only put the caulk over the slits. I am not stupid enough to think that the roof won't leak.
I’m not a roofer and I did a way better job doing my own attic fans-they have been up there 10 yrs and still bone dry.I also just replaced all the ROOF CEMENT after all that time to keep it good for another decade.as many other comments have stated-you guys butchered this install-
engineers everywhere are killing themselves because of your video. first, cut through without a care, structural, ties, or whatever.. second, what is the point of the sealant if you are going to push it after and smear it and it is basically gone by the time it is in place. third, hopefully??? fourth, sealant is all that keeps water outside ur attic??? what a hack!

It could be clear roofing sealant...
@@spol1622 I guess is could be. I've never seen clear roofing sealant but that doesn't mean it's not out there.
The best I hav e ever Seen,I like it how much?

That part was the deal breaker for me. Terrible solution and in Southern California.

this one looks like it would survive a hurricane.
DIY,Where can I buy it?
whatta hack job!
What do we do when the solar fan stops working in 12 months like every other self powered solar product?
Jonathan Perez well nothing to be honest... just like the vents you have on the roof right now .....it will still let heat out just not fast enough

I don’t think I would let this guy take my trash out to the curb.
LoL
You are braking so many ruffing guidelines. Terrible installation process.
@Buck Futter roofers don't go past the second grade and rely on others to read for them.

Do you have a video of this or have a link to one that explains what you're saying/typing??
You used a utility knife and cut through both the shingles and the tar paper then only put the caulk over the slits.

Do you want me to consider buying your product? LIST A PRICE!
Do any of you realize companies literally design these for water run off?
You seriously did all that with the caulking?
It was all good and gravy until the end with the caulking😖
This is not how roofers do

I just dropped $8k on a NEW roof on my house...
Do you THINK i would even consider making a huge HOLE in my roof for this vent fan.... LOL
You Tube how are you going to vent your attic
8k ? You got the cheapest Roof in the Market
@@martintorres4688 its only 150 sq ft.

what a hack!
Sealant is a gasket, its the same as saying..."what a gasket is the only thing from keeping your engine from exploding?? What a hack Ferrari!"
@Mike I don't think you understand bub...sealant is fine. What exactly are you talking about keyboard warrior?
This install was a hack job, but there is nothing structurally significant about cutting between rafters.
Ugly, it leaks.
