  • @mwmache39

    Back in the day this was called an attic fan. They were like 3-4’ in diameter and that sucker could pull some air through a house. Easiest way is get a couple of box fans and put them in an open window and block off the rest of opening and open up other windows. Might not get as much air flow but it works and a fraction of the cost.

    With the amount of air blowing around, is there any issues with the blown in insulation getting stirred up and blown everywhere?

    • @NumberDZ
      @NumberDZ  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, the air flow is not directed towards the insulation, you have to direct it to an area of your attic away from the insulation. As you can see in the video, mine is throwing the air to the studs and an open area of the attic.

  • @evomatic

    Any thoughts on the proper amount of attic ventilation required? That is the main hold up on my own install. Thanks for the great video.

    • @NumberDZ
      @NumberDZ  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As long as you have 1 or 2 vents you should be fine, the amount of air pushed in your attic by this fan is not enough to create positive pressure, even a small 1 foot by 8 inch vent should be fine.

    • @foodie5214
      @foodie5214 หลายเดือนก่อน

      During times where you would use the fan, the temp in your house is likely more desirable than the temp in your attic. You put air from your house into the attic, pushing air through the attic. Attics are vented so the air will flow.

    • @NumberDZ
      @NumberDZ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The attics have vents, all the extra air creates positive pressure in the attic and the air gets pushed out thought he vents.

    • @lohengrinknight
      @lohengrinknight ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You run it around 8 pm or 6 am for an hour. You open the windows, so the fan can pull fresh air from outside. Then turn it off, close all windows and spend all day with the cool temperature that the fan left inside the house. at night time, repeat the same process again.
