    Check out the car on my instagram (@Mexicanfab) for more up to date look, as ive lowered it more since.
    Shout me if you have any questions, but this was straight forward and actually still a really comfortable ride.

    Just inherited my dad’s 2007 silver S500 and will be doing the same thing. What size/spec wheels did you get? I want to buy original Mercedes AMG wheels for it. I will also tint the windows with 3M Crystalline. Maybe 40% or the next shade darker. I plan to do a audio system upgrade. Three 12” JL audio w7s, Audison or Mcintosh amps, bit one processor and Dynaudio Esotec 3 way components with an 8” midbass.

    you can buy those ball joints, ready rod and assemble them yourself for like $20 to make these links.

      @Mexicanfab ha yea I know how that goes. Its arguably just as economical to buy them with the time saved by having someone else make a functional part. Especially with next day delivery. Just thought I'd mention it for anyone else who's looking into this mod

    I drive a Citroen with the famous hydraulic suspension. You can adjust height from all the way up to all the way down with a lever and drive the car at whatever height you like (I'm not saying this is recommended, but doable). Is this possible with Airmatic? I know there is a button inside the car but I don't know what it affects. Is it mandatory to install lowering links to adjust height everytime? I'm considering one of these Mercedes, prices are surely tempting. Thank you for the info and a nicely explained how to!

    • @Mexicanfab
      @Mexicanfab  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is 2 types of suspension in the W220 range. ABC which is as the Citroen and hydraulic, and Airmatic which is air.
      Both types use links in sensors in order for ECU to run the car low while it thinks it’s at normal ride height.
      ABC has 3 settings and Airmatic has 2 settings. So these are preset but changes with the links.
      Airmatic in the facelift cars is much more reliable than the early cars and for sure than ABC.

    • @Abe_Sheen
      @Abe_Sheen 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Mexicanfab yeah I did some research and found nothing but trouble with the ABC system. So if I understand correctly the lowering links are a one time affair. Well then, I'm gonna search for facelift models and see what I can find around. Wish me luck and have a nice week!

      @@Abe_Sheen you can adjust the links multiple times to make sure the car sits how you want it too.

    • @Mexicanfab
      @Mexicanfab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is a late 2003 model. So with Airmatic you only need 3 links as the rear has a single link by the diff.
      ABC cars have no ARBs, so they need a link every corner.

    So how much did you lower this by ? And how many inches is 5mm ?

    • @Mexicanfab
      @Mexicanfab  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have adjusted it 2 more times since this I made this. So it sits lower now and more level.
      5mm adjustment should drop about an inch, but I found the car doesn’t sit totally level and that’s why I’ve gone back and done adjustments to the links, so car visually sits better and level.

    Good vid looking at doing my s320 cdi.. just 1 note. Wasn't that rear link already adjustable? If you loosened the nut in the middle.. I don't actually know I'm just asking haha looks like you could shorten it without removing

    • @Mexicanfab
      @Mexicanfab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. The rear is adjustable, so you could just undo the nut and adjust. But if I was already there under the car, I didn’t want to risk it not having enough adjustment. So swapped it out.
      Also, since I did the video, I have adjusted front once and rear twice to sit lower. So by now the stock link would defo would not have had enough adjustment.
