I remember being stationed in Okinawa for 2 years and every morning at 8am theyd play the American anthem followed by the Japanese anthem, such beautiful songs..

Ah yes, I do remember standing for this when every morning during Colors. Brings back memories! My family used to live on a US airbase in Japan, so every morning when they would raise the US flag, they would play the Star Spangled Banner, and then raise the Japanese flag, and play the Japanese national anthem. We would have to stand facing the flags for the entire duration of both anthems, regardless of what we were doing.

So, after world war 2, this song was abolished until 1999 but after it used again. Nope, it was not forbidden. The government just "ofically" adopted as a national anthem (and the flag) in 1999. It was virtually the national anthem of Japan before then anyway. If you are allergic to this, just don't watch it and have a nice national foundation day! With love from Japan

ends in a way as if its stop mid-sentence..like its not finished and open for continuation
That is actually traditional Japanese way of composing. It apears unfinished to the western ear due to one note "missing" at the end.
