It’s a shame. You can hear the damage cocaine did to his nose. I sing, but don’t do drugs. I’ve had bad sinus issues and 4 sinus surgeries at 44, but never drank, did drugs or smoked. He was very talented and naturally gifted, good looking but this makes me so sad. Especially knowing he’s only about 4 years older than I am right now.💔
God I love this guy.. My favorite front man besides Bon Scott... I mean this man gave everything to his music.. A true Rockstar in every sense of the word. I see people saying he wasn't himself there at the end and this and that... but that's bullshit. I've seen interviews of him slurring his words and looking messed up yes, but there are also interviews where hes just fine and is talking as normal as ever. The man had addiction demons. He just drank too much with his medication..that's all it is.. unfortunately we get old and in Rock N Roll time is not your friend.. Scott we will never forget you brother.. The best frontman of the 90s and my second favorite of all time... Thank you for the memories man and I hope you are resting some place peaceful getting to play as much Rock N Roll as you can.. Nothing but love brother ... ✌🖤🤘
Nah, he does a better Morrison then Bowie. Best to cover Bowie is Bauhaus covering Ziggy Stardust. And I say that with no disrespect. Being Scott was one of my favorite singers. Hell even listen to STP on their original song Atlanta. It's kinda chilling the way Scott sounds. It's if Morrison possessed Scott and also when Scott sang with The Doors.
@@216Numbskull I agree. It’s the energy that comes through him when he did Break on thru with the doors that was the icing on the cake. Like Morrison was trying to bust out of Scott’s body and come back! You could tell the band felt it too.
The saddest thing is to watch someone you love slowly wasting away while everyone pleads for them to get help. The help is always there but the hard work is all on them. In my experience, most don't make it out.
Brett the Hitman Heart version...pure excellence of execution. I saw them a fair amount of times but wish I could have been the equivalent of a dead head. also, many thanks to Tommy for posting about metaliachi.
Scott Weiland could sing anything. His voice takes me to a better place. This version of the song Jean Genie was better than the original because Scott sang it with soul.
The bass player was a huge enabler. When Scott was found dead he was arrested for drug possession and was obviously high in his mugshot. He was only in the band because he was Scott's drug buddy.
@@lauramalizia9636 - Exactly. And the original guitar player of the Wildabouts also died of an overdose. It seemed like Scott surrounded himself with people who wouldn't call him out on his bullshit.
@@lauramalizia9636 that's stupid lol. Probably not a good idea to assume things and then tell yourself it's 100% true... Probably not very logical... 🤔
Scott Weiland at the time of this video session : - Voice : shot - Looks : emaciated - Attitude : non-attitude/ minimalist/ hypomobile (looks depressed) Yet : Perhaps the last real rock star. Some older guys are still alive, yet what they do has a lot more to do with managing their corporate cultural portfolio (great rock songs they wrote while young) then with real go-for-the-throat rock and roll.
Mottahead Bowie was still alive when this was made. Actually, it reminds me of Layne Staley during the MTV Unplugged show. He just sat there. Glasses on, no emotion, voice shot. I found this very depressing. But what a great song to cover. It would’ve sounded awesome when he was sober💔
Man he was without doubt in a bad why you look at some of his last performances and you see the hurt in his eyes but his voice wasn't done he was still amazing
My love....worlds above the rest -- even at his worst. This hurts. Please let this be a warning to the world about evil H. If it can bring down the best of the lot -- what's it gonna do to YOU? I miss you my old friend. I ache for the days before you knew that evil. You remember, when you had some meat on those young bones. OUCH
Professor Kaos as well as his own preferred cocktail of alcohol and cocaine. He claimed he wasn't on heroin for years but... I don't know. Only God knows as he knows the hour of our death and all the things people will find out about all of us when we're gone.
Add alcohol to the mix then yes this would do this too you, but however ssri were not found on his bus when he died so not convinced he was on them it would have been more likely benzos mixed with alcohol plus prescription meds
@@barbodamiri104 dont think MDA and cocaine was prescribed but sure the benzos aren't a suprise at all. Also, I think MDA is more dissasociative than MDMA (could be wrong though) and could explain why hes so zone out.
I’m here because I’m missing Scott today. God, I loved this man.
Scott Weiland the ultimate entertainer, multi talented, ever changing. You are missed, such talent 😢

Aye, a toast to Scott and David (and Lemmy too)!
R.I.P. and thank you for the music.
Incredible Version of this song
hard song to execute .... Scott was a genius and a very hard working man ...
He had no choice at the end.. paid out the wazoo.
love this cover
He loves to be loved 😂😍
Wow. Never hears this one. I never got to see him. But I listen to his music a lot.
So much talent. RIP Scott 🙏 🕊
God bless Scott and his soul
Little late for that
BOWIE AND WEILAND FINALLY UP IN HEAVEN
SINGING JEAN GENIE :)
GHOST GENIE
Awsome fkn rock star sh*t! Gonna miss him. Sean Black

Awesome cover, and quite poignant.
Brilliant version,rip scott

Scott Weiland !!! forever !!!
I blame everyone in the band for not getting Scott help. How can you not see that he's not doing well? RIP Scott
Kory seems Joey is watching him closely here

Good cover. I would have like to have seen Scot have some fun with it.
Sadly I think he was a bit out of it :/
Scott Weiland could sing anything. His voice takes me to a better place. This version of the song Jean Genie was better than the original because Scott sang it with soul.
he was good, but no better than Bowie
Bowie had soul even after he died. Unfortunately, Scott's was long gone, as evidenced by this performance.
Masters of the universal language. Sean Black
outrageous carpet!!
Scott had a voice. There were lots of drugs in the room here.
"Scott Genie"
Singing motionless out in space
+Dru541 Yes, but did not miss a lick. When you're in a zone.......Bloody waste!
Just like Layne Staley towards the end.
Laura Malizia My thoughts exactly. I just made this comment.
glimmertwinsproduct He did not sing well at all. Not for him.
"Sits like a man, smiles like a reptile..."
Astute observation regarding the similarity to Layne, a sad, eerie one at that.
F*cking wow man. What more can you say? Sean Black
Scott here is stoned, immaculate...
Wow
His voice was unique
turn up the volume the party its beggining on the other side!
Thats not a party they stoking the fire

An acoustic performance you say?
Comes out of the Virginia swamps cool and slow with a backbeat narrow and hard to master

within two weeks of each other...hmm...very interesting!...
it was over a month but whatever the whole thing sucks
One milisecond from each other.
Whatever.
They're here no more.
Shit.
Esta es la versión que aparece como Bonus Track en el Album Blaster? O es otra?
No ,Jean Genie cover estás no álbum de 2011 de Scott Weiland.
