Even at the beginning, Alabama drew a multi generational audience. The teenagers from the 80's all too soon started bringing their grandkids. A true "Mussel Shoals" miracle!
@@hackermusic3355Yeah, Fort Payne is not far from me. Maybe an hour. There's a lyric in the song, "And someday when I make it, when luck finds a way, somewhere high on Lookout Mountain I'll just smile with pride and say ... "
Yeah, they revolutionized Country Music in the 80s, less twangy & honky-tonk, more driving drum & bass..the saying was rebel enough for kids, but your parents will like the harmonies & values!!!! YeeHaw
I absolutely loved Alabama and their wonderful harmony. They sing together as only family can. Teddy and Jeff are Randy's cousins. I have to admit my favorite is the feel good song, "If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band). Jeff opens up his case, and makes magic. I lived in Houston when it came out. It was everywhere, everyday, all the time. We still couldn't get enough. I think they might have even been playing this country favorite on the album rock stations. Great memories of those years.
I will say we saw them 2 yrs ago in Salisbury, MD.. and Randy Owen sounded exactly like he does in this video. 35/40 yrs later. His cousin on the right was still with him.. his cousin on the left had passed away.. but it was another cousin taking his place.. families have great harmonies and great love.
Actually have tickets to see Alabama tonight.. paid a lot of money.. can't make it.. hubby has to have kidney stone surgery on Friday.. I'm sad that we can't go see them again.. they are amazing
Nice reaction. in the 80's and maybe a little less in th 90's iit was Alabama in the forfront of Country music. They did it their way and never let any one tell them how it should be done. With as many different styles in their songs - it would appeal to a greater audiance then others might. I feel some of their songs weren't for the " Country " fan but for fan's of other music gernes.
I never imagined Id find you here. Im so glad I did tho. edit: They are a fantastic band. First class FRONT MAN (Dont you dare just call Randy a singer) and phenomenal musicians and vocalists in their own right. Check out Red River. Alabama is and forever will be The Country Cats Pajama.
If you have a son, find their song, "The Boy". It's tragic that they never released it, likely due to Teddy Gentry being lead vocalist rather than the usual Randy Owens.
hello, I liked a lot of their songs, but this one is special ---for ordinary workers in the USA. Alabama - Forty Hour Week (For A Livin') (Official Video) th-cam.com/video/S-G2J3RzURA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oCad9Y1JlHw5VsnZ
One of the few things that consistently bothers me is when producers take a well written song and add 200 strings to it. It detracts from the song, for me. I did appreciate the cleverness of the lyrics and the broad appeal- don’t get me wrong. It’s just a problem I have always had. I always hated when they did it. My bummer.
@@HarriBestReactions I do like strings- in Classical music, mostly. Not so much in pop music. A couple of violins, a cello, can work in certain pop songs, but I don’t like the addition of a symphony of strings- as they did with this song. I’m sorry if I came off sounding like I disliked strings. Some of my favorite orchestral musicians play strings! Thanks so much for this channel, Hari. It’s wonderful to be able to share your reactions to such a wide variety of great music. You’ve got me hooked…in the best sense of the word 😉
THE SUPER GROUP ALABAMA! 30 NUMBER ONES! GREAT CATALOG. GREAT REQUEST, WONDERFUL REACTION HARRI!
I am sorry! OVER 41!
Glad you enjoyed it
If Atlanta stayed together it would have been a great competing
Alabama doesn’t have any bad songs. Fabulous.
Randy Owen is the greatest Male Country singer ever

More aptly a Lookout Mountain miracle.

@@sallyphillips9175 I live on Lookout Mountain a few miles from Randy’s place.
@@hackermusic3355 Cool!
Alabama's vocals are second to none. Love it when they harmonize together.
Alabama, a classic group. So many #1 hits, so many awards! I always like you, Harri, you’re laid back and don’t talk as much as some!
😀😀 Thank you..I thought i talked too much
I love Alabama. They have so many great songs. Feels So Right, Dixieland Delight, Angels Among Us, etc.
They owned he country charts in the 80s.
Alabama was to Country in the 80's and 90's as the beatles were to rock in the 60's and 70's.
Even crossed over onto the Pop charts.
With more that 40 number one singles, the rabbit hole you've found is huge. Have fun.
More than 40???? That should be illegal
Alabama has huge songs! Yep, it’s country!

Always loved the country sound of Alabama. Nice harmony and Randy was a great lead vocalist! Retired way too early! Thank you Harri!
I loved Alabama in school, work, all through my family time........always ❤❤.
Try 18 Wheeler!!!
18 Wheeler brings me to tears every time I hear it ❤😢
Great song. You might enjoy their song Mountain Music ❤
Great suggestion ❤😊
If you just wanted to sit down and listen to 2 groups and never get tired of listening to them all day it would be Alabama and The Eagles.
They have many songs in their song catalog over many years .. This is my favorite song of theirs ..
Alabama was epic.
They had fabulous music from toe-tapping to baby-making ballads. "Feels So Right" is ❤🔥.

👍👍👍Excellent. 🖖❤
You need more Alabama!
Alabama was the first and only Supergroup of Country Music. ❤ ( 30 #1s , and damn good Live)
Incorrect! They had 41 #1s and 21 CONSECUTIVE #1s!!!! Please don't take away anything from them. They earned all 41 #1s!!!!
You need to do their “40 hour week”.
I love this song!!!!!
I was an Alabama fan from "My Home's in Alabama" in 1980. I turned 13 that year. They were country but had many crossover hits.
I will say we saw them 2 yrs ago in Salisbury, MD.. and Randy Owen sounded exactly like he does in this video. 35/40 yrs later. Very CLEVER lyrics indeed!!! Lol 😂❤
Brilliant indeed
Thanks Annie ❤😊
You are very welcome. I'm glad you liked it. It's one of many of their songs that I love.

And from Ft. Payne, Alabama, Merry Christmas, ya'll! Gets me every time! They do good Christmas tunes as well!
Thanks Annie and Harri, they had a great sound and some great hair : )
Just like you Sir Clint! ✌🏾😀
@@HarriBestReactions 😂
Not their most beautiful song, but I would add, perhaps the catchiest. And the lyrics always make me smile......
Jeff the Fiddle player, Bassist, and probably many more instruments is the one who wrote most of the songs. RIP
🔥

Awesome another Alabama fan that know's of Red River. Have you heard ; Words At Twenty Paces as well?
Try Lionel Ritchies' "Deep River Women" with Alabama accompanying him.
If you have a son, find their song, "The Boy". It's tragic that they never released it, likely due to Teddy Gentry being lead vocalist rather than the usual Randy Owens.
I think this was there first hit, before they were even considered country
❤🥰❤🥰❤🥰❤
Go hit BOOGIE WONDERLAND Leonid and Friends. You reviewed them before
"40 Hour Week " ❤
Great band. The songwriter died unfortunately . The others do it as well. But the fiddle player was the man.
Please react to the song “Maybe”, by the Chantels (1958). Thanks

Song Of The South and 40 Hr. Week ( For a Living ) have a very similar sound and very similar meaning.
I'm not a fan of Alabama's music but I like "Love In The First Degree".
This song by Alabama is too good to be limited to one genre, Harri.
