Did the planet actually come apart? I always wondered. I might be remembering wrong but I feel like the book never actually says whether the planet exploded into multiple pieces? Like, it would be much more probable that the planet's crust cracked completely and turned into lava, rendering the planet completely inhospitable, such that everything on the planet is wiped out; but I don't know if it actually blew apart like as if it got shot by a death star. Because the blackstone fortress never actually manages to shoot the planet with its planet killer beam.
