I like these people because they have kept the traditions and have not allowed them selves to be confused by others.

You should learn basic greetings / honorifics (sir, uncle, elder), in Dogon. It's really, really important, the way you greet elders in most west African towns greatly defines peoples perceptions of a person and greeting elders properly in the local dialect would impress them more and make them trust you and open open up to you more.

Choclit I agree. I would have done that first thing. Thank goodness I was raised well in Alabama to respect my elders. When I travel it is not difficult for me, because it is a part of me.
This young man seem to lack these social graces. He can learn though.

BlackMommaRaven Exactly. The right way is to give them money with the camera off and directly in the pocket without the others seeing it. The elder will be happy no matters the amount and will bless him. My advice for AA is to learn the respect code before going to Africa, specifically with the elders.

When the translator says sacrifice he just means giving away something to others that need it more than you. which is charity as some religions would put it. in many African cultures when one gives he/She gets more. So if we looking for peace among us, we should sacrifice and give more in order to receive the peace back from the universe. the way I see it is when ppl don't get attach to things and have the habit of giving everyone learns to take care of each other and peace and familyhood is inevitable. one love!

Setting up a simple alter to honor you ancestors is sorely lacking in western culture. Your ancestors are living inside your DNA and have the most to grant and protect you. Give them more power by honoring/venerating (not worshipping). They are your most powerful allies. When you pass on you have taught your children to do the same for you.

*This is what the Hogan was referring to when he talks about giving to those in need, in order to cultivate a culture of Peace and economically cohesive communities:*
*"We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."* Albert Einstein
What we need to create is a *"National Black Economic Development Fund,"* backed by *one million employed Blacks;* to generate capital to fund new Black businesses and other socioeconomic programs *without remuneration!* It's CRITICAL we pool our resources and build a *PRIVATE SECTOR* for ourselves and completely STOP depending on the government. #EconomicSelfSacrefice
*Just imagine If we had at least 1 million employed Blacks pledging $1.25 USD a week, towards creating capital to fund new Black businesses and each funded business, in return, pledges $50 to $100 a week. Just imaging the type of exponential economic success we'll be able to achieve, when 1 million Black businesses (through legal agreement) are contributing $50 to $100 towards funding even more Larger Black businesses etc. It will take "Collaborative Intelligence: (Using Teams to Solve Hard Problems)" to solve the problems we face; under the system of white supremacy! Building a Black Private Sector and ending the dependency on those who continue to oppress us begins with this concept.*
*The only solution against white supremacy racism, is the invariable practice of True Black Group Economics:*
*One million Blacks for Economic Empowerment*
*First layer:* one million employed Blacks pledging $1.25 a week to create Capital to fund new and existing black businesses. The goal is to fund 1 million businesses; who will through legal agreement or sworn oath, donate $100 a week towards funding larger socioeconomic projects.
*Second layer:* all funded Black businesses donate $100 a week to generate more Capital to fund larger manufacturing companies, Black owned Media, provide transport, vocational schools, health centers, livestock, farm lands, whole food stores, bakeries, farmers markets, groceries, credit unions, gas stations, sport leagues, Naturopathic medicines, import and export, etc. etc.
*Third layer:* politics, take total control of State government
*The ONLY solution against white supremacy is: Sustainable Black Group Economics! NOT individualism!*
    *SOLUTION:* MEGA Black crowd Funding!
*Intelligence* is defined as (according to Psychology):
"the ability to benefit from past experience (good or bad), *act purposefully,& solve problems, and *adapt to new situations..* understand and handle abstract concepts, and *use knowledge to manipulate one’s environment."*
    www.britannica.com/topic/human-intelligence-psychology
*This concept (mentioned above) represents the antithesis of our conditioning under the system of capitalism; which forces us to think in terms of individual gains. The idea is to create capital to fund Black businesses, without ANYONE being able to pocket any of the funds, except those (small business owners) who are qualified through a screening and education process. When a nation goes to "war" no one is there to profit. This concept is NOT about filling anyone's pockets. It calls for Economic Self Sacrifice, Self Determination, Self Reliance and Self Sufficiency. We need to use our Brightest Minds to perfect this concept. Crowdfunding platforms already exist; therefore, we do not have to reinvent the "proverbial wheel." True Intelligence is a measure of what we've collectively accomplish as a people and not what we're able to achieve as "individuals."*

If thwy travwled over land, that means there is mire land than what we havw bwwn told about. The prw-historic animals, the giants, the hy eud beings are all beyond Antartica and The Artic Pole. The Nommo are long line descended from the Nilotic Pyramid Builders, and the Ubaid who settle North African Phut, all the way through Ethiopia, and Egypt, to Sumer, before the Akkadians rose at Uruk, and Ur. This is the remnant of the people from Eridu. these are the people who eventually became the west Africans, and under the Ashanti Dynasty, would be sent into America as slaves along with other bearded, non-Nilotic tribes. We are the people before the Nubians, and Ethiopians, and the Dogon are a remnant of what we used to be.

Let´s see what they remember, it´s so interesting. Also for them, it puts a whole different respect, as they hardly ever encounter europeans with a genuine interest in their background of ancestry or anyone who knows about this and asks specific questions with a warm heart ~ much LOVE

Thank you, my unknowable friend, for this spirituality you represent is all I stand for. This is very amazing and real stuff you are doing. It matters, more than ANYTHING. The Dogon culture having been persecuted by Muslims for a thousand years must be, as well as all cultures, must be absolutely protected and revered as sovereign. Diversity only works when we are all different, and when we can and are willing to learn from each other.

Sacrifices can be done in many ways, not necessarily taking life. What we need to do is get some values and morals again. The Dogon migrated to the place they are now.

greetings. i am Pilipino from the Phillippines, i heard the word "Barkada" when the brothers started speaking Dogon, Barkada in the Phillippines means "Friends". I also heard "Sige na", Sige na in the Phillippines means "C'mon or come on, wow i am really proud Tagalog language has some ties with the Dogon, even the way it is pronounced in Dogon.
Our ancestors from the Phillippines are called the Aeta, Aeta's looks African, but not the Cushetic type, I know the African have six phases and there are different types, Aeta are very similar to the Pygmies of the Congo basin, Aeta's stand no more than 5 feet tall, Aetas share the same type of living conditions, Is it true the Dogons are short like the Pygmies??? thanks for this video, One love.

The Elder loves the African American manning his eyes he shows a natural affinity with him. He looks very happy and excited. I sense he was not sure about the native interpreter. That is my reading of the meeting.

  • @gotcha9934

I speak and understand both locals dialects. Let me tell you. Your translator ( Bambara to English) don’t want to have headaches so he simply keep important details. Also when he can’t translate exactly, he just jump and give his personal explanations. For exemple, from minute 8 to 9.40, the elder gave a specific recipe for a ritual and 2 different ways to execute it. But the second translator ( Bambara to English) skipped all this part and the details and made up is own stuff! The elder didn’t said to do something with turkey ( the translator added it). 😂😂😂 again, at the end about contacting the ancestors, he didn’t correctly translated , so the elder understood something else. However the elder explained how to find your ancestors when you’ll die not on this human time. Again, he kept it and made up a whole story about donating/charity....
That’s my boy! He was tired of staying on his feet outside with the sun

I don’t understand stand the language, bit it is very clear that the elders body language is different from the translators body language. I think in so many ways he’s trying to say that he should have not came empty handed and gave gifts the the elder out of respect. If you can’t show traditional gratitude to the elder, how an you honor your ancestors correctly.... random thought

The intent must be authentic and not fake of giving. also the context narrative cast to be overall healthy for the gift. and if somebody tries to corrupt your gifts you must do self-defense like against white supremacy. Peace💯

Very interesting. So our ancestors learned how to make a space bridge to come to earth. They knew more about technology then we currently do. For an example of a space bridge (seems silly but scifi is closer to reality then we think) watch the animated show from 2010 transformers prime. They use a space bridge to get from cybertron to earth. It's like a worm hole without the massive gravitational forces. So its really possible to make a space bridge. Please more videos! Does he know what our ancestors world look like?

What's missing is true Ujamaa relative to the blueprint of Julius Nyerere. The African-American has a capitalistic mindset, which makes him an economic predator. Get rid of the capitalistic mindset of which isn't an African mindset. Adopt the African mindset of Ujamaa and responsible parenthood.

The thing about paying respect to your ancestor through giving the needy and pleasing the ancestors is still practiced in India. We still do some charity to the poor and needy on the death day of our father, mother and grand and great grand parents, and believe that they get it through them and bless us. I am surprised hear the same.
