You were certainly busy and covered a lot of ground on the second day of your garden tour.
I visited Koishikawa two days after the snow fall on 5 Feb. this year. A hybrid cherry tree 寒桜 created by 牧野富太郎 Makino Tomitarō was in bloom. It was especially beautiful with the snow all around.
I almost always visit Rikugien before wandering over to Sugamo's Jizō-dori.
Last year I went to the Kite festival at the Ōji Inari Shrine and walked to Nanushi no taki kōen. Few people (more gardeners than visitors) and several falls including the impressive Odaki (Men's falls). A bit off the beaten path but one of my new favorites. (Free)
On my second stay in Japan (1959-1961), my family lived next to Senzoku Ike. As a child (8-10 years old), the park and shrines around the pond were a magical world to be explored and revered.

I've found out about the fall in Oji when I visited Oji shrine in the shrine video, but I haven't visited. You really know deeply about Tokyo's spots. :) Senzoku ike around 1960! Sounds magical. I wish I could be there at that time.
We visited Koishikawa Korakuen in June and it was so beautiful. We loved exploring and soaking in all the views. Bonus - if you have a teenager like I do, there is a rollercoaster (Thunder Dolphin) just a short walk away next to Tokyo Dome. He rode it a few times and then walked the gardens with us without complaining!

This video is so well done and also very relaxing, thank you for that ! I love Japanese Gardens (=JG), and in every place in Japan, visiting a JG is something very high on my priority list. But in Tokyo, there are so many other things to do, see and enjoy, which are mostly unique to Tokyo, that I dont feel like I "have time" to visit a JG. Therefore, in several visits to Tokyo, I have only visited Nr. 2 and 5 from your list. However, Nr. 3 looks really beautiful, thank you for sharing this precious looking garden.

I would also recommend hikarigaoka and hibiya park especially for autumn! It is amazing how well they keep the in Japan, always super impressed with them! I can sit there and zone out the whole day!

I visited Happo-en previously when staying at the Sheraton next door and it is a perfect small gem. I think it depends whether they have an event on but usually they are happy to welcome visitors. They have a very pleasant tea room there as well, if I recall correctly.

I visited Koishikawa Korakuen in November 2018 and it was so beautiful! I had planned to go to Hamarikyu Gardens earlier this month but the weather wasn't cooperating 😅 Hopefully the weather will be nicer next time 🙏

Obviously not in Tokyo... but the herb garden in Kobe was like heaven on earth. It would be worth the trip even if thats all somebody did.

@@tokyokenchan Yup! You can either do a round trip on the ropeway, or just take it up and walk the path down. There's even a midway station so there's a lot of flexibility.

I posted on the instagram how much this first garden looks like the Huntington. Even the peach colored building is just like the one there. If you do end up going, you’ll be amazed at how much they captured the feel and look of a Japanese garden there. Also, make sure to reserve a spot at the tea room in advance. It’s 100% worth it. Amazing video. I will have to check it out when I get back to Japan.

Hello Kenchan! Is the pass only for a certain period of days or you can visit any gardens at anytime as stated on the website until January 31, 2025 from the day you purchased the pass? Thank you!
Hi. You can visit each place once. The pass expires in 2 months from the day of purchase. They renew the pass every year end of March, and the facility you can enter slightly changes from next April. (Usually it doesn’t affect these gardens.) So they don’t sell this in February and March. Thank you for watching. :)
