Congratulations on the 30k subscribers Kengo, thats much deserved ! This road trip around Fujisan looks great, and its seems that Kenny also had a wonderful time, so thank you for sharing. I think that no matter if you travel by car or by public transport, having enough time (1-3 nights) is the most important, to maximise your chances at seing Fujisan. We dont drive, so for us, staying in the town of Kawaguchiko was the best option. You can easily get there by expressbus from Shinjuku. There are several restaurants, things to do and see, the beautiful lake, the free footh bath at the station, sake breweries, a park etc. P.S. I find it amazing how well Fujisan can "hide". Sometimes, its like in the postcards and some of the pictures you shared with us. And sometimes, its like the mountain "left" and you cannot see it at all.
Thank you for your kind words for 30k subs! And sorry the 30k video didn't come out earlier. Also I appreciate your sharing the information about Kawaguchiko. It's a great area with fun things to do. I agree that having enough time is key for seeing the Mt.Fuji. I'm glad I could show the reality. :)
Great video Kengo, a different view of touring around Fujisan for us all. Good to see Kenny taking a starring role, he looked like he was enjoying himself on your trip. And congratulations on the 30K subscribers too! A big achievement!
Thank you for showcasing other nice spots to see Mount Fuji. My faves parts on this video are Oishi Park/Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Tanuki and Lake Yamanaka. Well done for making this one 👍💯
Great video Kengo-San! Some viewpoints I'll definitely consider on my next trip when we are likely to hire a car 👍 Some beautiful sights in this video!
During our last visit in Japan, we rented a car to visit small factories in Niigata. Perhaps not the most picturesque area in Japan (Tsubame Sanjo), but definitely the most memorable experience. Just a simple Toyota Paso, but the freedom it gave us, the different way of blending with locals and the small street we happened to drive, was a unique experience. Looking forward to our next trip back to Japan and hopefully rent again a car.
That's very interesting you rented a car in Niigata. Thank you for sharing the experience. I agree driving a car definitely take you to a different route from major tourists route. I can imagine you had a nice memorable experience. :)
@@tokyokenchan You are welcome. Yes, it was decided at the spot as the local transport and arrangements were not suitable. My wife is Taiwanese, speaks Japanese so, everything was easier. I asked the lady in the rental car company to give us the sticker that notifies the other drivers that a foreigner is driving.. Loved that. You know, when i feel nostalgic about Japan, i still hear ”間もなく右/左ほどです” 🙂in the voice of our Toyota's gps. The same feeling of freedom I feel in Taiwan, that we now live, where i passed the local driving exams (although i had driving license from Greece where I am from), driving now our car here, like "local". No problem for me driving on the right side. Adjusted immediately. Of course I was driving very carefully as well as Tsubame Sanjo and Niigata area were not the most crowded places in Japan.. hehe.
I don't currently have any plans to rent a car in Japan. But it's definitely given me something to think about 🚘🤔 Maybe I will get an international driving permit just in case. The areas you visited look very beautiful. Thank you for the video.
けんごさん!登録者3万人超え、おめでとうござます!After the little break, it must be a great gift to yourself and something you well-deserve. Your dedication and passion, and of course your “hospitality” - still replying to each comment after you have earned this much popularity. This is why we are Ken-chan fans! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone’s episode of covering the entire area of Mt Fuji’s under-appreciated surroundings before, thank you for showing us around the beauty of it, we tend to forget it because we sometimes focus too much on the 3776m rock! I enjoyed this episode very much and am looking forward to the next! (英語だど余計にチープな言葉になってしまいすみません!)
