Crazy how they get tall and spindly at day 6 then shrink back down! I thought mine were leggy because they weren’t getting enough light. Instead, they’re probably at the point just before they shorten.
I'm around day 11-12 and was wondering why they just started laying down. I thought their stems were broken or something but its nice to see that its a part of the process
@@didierliraa Yeah I thought so too. It looks legged, too thin and too tall... Can't support the leaves that's why it fell. I think the growing light they used isn't enough.
tip: you can use bottom of lettuce for planting, you just need to cut the bottom off, put it in a glass of water make sure the bottom part only touches the water, after 3 days, it'll grow! place it in a pot cover the bottom part with soil then you'll have unlimited lettuce!
This will make BOLTED lettuce more times than not.. can be controlled if monitored closely but bolted means instead of leafs it produces seed and reaches for the sky in a "jack in the bean stalk" kind of way
I would love to use this video in my classroom, but unfortunately the "interesting as f_ck" makes this impossible. Do you have a version without the stickers? Thanks
Poor soil mix lettuce germinated in 2 days with proper soil mix.....you planted it to shallow lettuce are short root crops an the root grows up to the surface over time should be planted deeper......lack of nutrition and sunlight need to fertilize with organic 15-30-15 fertilizer every 2 weeks from the time they germinate
@@IzzySpears hmm, mine are only a few days old and look like that so i put more soil around them and they look fine now. Maybe not planting deep enough as i didnt plant mine very deep at all.
Late to this comment, but the most likely reason your lettuce seedlings are getting leggy is that they have too little light. Plants that don't have enough light will try to stretch as high as possible. Unfortunately, this also makes them very leggy and top-heavy, so they'll fall over eventually. The lettuce shown in this video looks like it's stretching for light too.

Sometimes I get impatient and throw a MILLION seeds in a spot and this channel helps me identify what they are by providing high quality time lapses!
😂😂
Same 😢

Hahah ja at some point they kinda exploded
When they get too much heat they get tall and skinny...its not suppose to get that tall at that early stage.

same here :D
@@deadpants1011 The plant looks stretched and has very long leaves because it didn't get enough light.

It's the stump

I agree with Jacob! 😃
Interesting timelapse as always!
Thanks so much!🙏
Awesome time lapse! Keep going :)
Thanks so much!
I was told to grow lettuce indoors, but got away with just watching this instead:))
I’m glad I could help! Thanks for watching my friend :-)
Nice👍
So you need timelapse on outside, so that plant can exopsed by sumlight to get boost the growth of the lettuce instead of light
crazy how the leaves fan out to capture the most sunlight
Yes indeed! :-) glad you like it!
Awesome 👍👍👍👍👍
What type of lettuce is this?
Hi , how much water do I give it and how often ?
Its exactly the sound of the game i played in my childhood
❤❤❤
Mine is like the previous try just a bit shorter what should I do?
Does it get enough light? (and proper soil?)
How did u water it
Hey buddy! I watered once or twice a week :-) mostly when the soil started to look dry
@@interestingasfck with the weather being cool the soil always seems damp should I water anyway
@@lzshow in my opinion you should wait a bit then - otherwise you could get mold
wait are u supposed to plant in the soil?? i planted it on top of the soil 😭
I think some of the seeds should sprout even if they are not covered with soil :-)
How many seeds do I use, can I do this inside in natural sunlight in the winter?
Can I eat it if there was a mold? 🤔
Not if it's on the lettuce. Mold on soil is normal
@@mightytoad123 Thank you!
You need more light.
What type of pot do you use
For this one I used vegetable soil :-) I think it’s mostly for tomatos🍅
@@interestingasfck cool I’m growing tomatoes
Im clearly doing something wrong af lol
hahah just keep trying!
😅

My Lettuce gets leggy and then dies? Why?!?!?
I mean I’m not sure, but is it probably overwatered (Root rot?)?
What do you mean leggy?
@Sahil Squadron the seedling grows really tall and the stem is thin and transparent or white looking
