Thanks so much for filming the Roubideaux trail! No one ever shows that, and I've wondered whether that side trek was worth it. It looks awesome.
It was definitely worthwhile, and we bought a chainsaw as soon as we got home.
Great video, we passed crossed couple times on Rim rocker Memorial day weekend
We certainly picked a good weekend to be out there
The RR is one of my favorites!
Kerri I did Rimrocker last fall after watching your video from 3 years ago and I am planing to do it again in 3 weeks. It’s an amazing area and beautiful.
You might take a chain saw on some trips... interesting country.
We bought one as soon as we got home!
Antoine Roubideaux was a fur trader. He built Fort Uncompaghre in Delta, CO in 1828. Utes killed a bunch of people and attacked the fort. He was blamed because he sold guns to them. He then wound up in St. Louis. Things were named after him. I've been in Delta for 7 years (originally from St. Louis) and didn't know the Roubideaux significance. Small world.
Thank you the info
If you go thru this area again, I highly recommend Escalante Canyon to Hwy 141. From Delta, CO, I usually take Sawmill Mesa to Escalante. It takes longer, but the drop down into the canyon is worth it. I was out there last Sunday in my '68 CJ5. I saw 3 groups of bighorn sheep. And you have to check out the Potholes. It's fun, but never locked in the hubs. After getting up out of the canyon, I turned around due to rain. No top on Jeep. Instead of Moab, I want to explore more trails south of Naturita. And west of Green River, UT.
Great video! It's pronounced, " Tā Bah Wash"
Thanks!!!
You should have your own tv show on Discover or History channel
That would totally be my ultimate dream
Love the green alien on the dash…did you pick him up in Area 51?
It came with my AlienShade sunscreen
@@TrailTraveler lol.
This is BEAUTIFUL. Does one actually NEED a 4wheel drive and clearance for the Rimrocker trail only? In the video it doesn’t look like it. We WILL do this trail soon.
No, only for the side trail.
re"water crossings. I like them even MORE when it's me doing them but watching others doing them with scenic videos is good too ;)
I'll be in Montrose in August and I am booked in Moab afterwards, I didn't know that you could get to Moab completely offroad! I have a 2dr wrangler rubicon I'll be carrying 4 extra gallons of fuel Do you think that's enough gas for the trip?
Should be fine. It’s only 160 miles and there is a gas stop along the way
On the Roubideaux loop, if you got off the loop, you would have wound up back in Montrose. Eventually.
13:20 Don't you carry a saw? One would think there'd be some space at least in your trailer for one? I carry an 18V reciprocating saw (Milwaukee Hacksall) with 12" pruning blades. It's not very big and not very heavy, and goes through medium-sized trees pretty quickly.
We bought a small chainsaw after this trip.
Kerry the trail coming from Montrose 546. If coming from Moab what is the trail number or mile marker. thanks getting ready to Moab in September and back across Rim Rock
I am not sure. You can use TrailsOffroad.com or download the gps tracks from rimrockertrail.org
@@TrailTraveler thanks I did not know about the rim rockertrail website helps a lot
Kerry you are sending your dog mixed messages referring to them as cow PIES! with the word PIE in the name how can one resist ;)
I would have a chainsaw on the Jeep 👍👍☮️
Buying one this week!
Always carry a chain saw
Buying one this week!
I was going to say the same thing. Dewalt 12" 20V with a case, gloves, glasses and chaps sets you back about $350 total but is one of the best things to take on Colorado trails - especially early in the season
I just had to resubscribe to your channel. Have you seen an issue with that?
Once in a while TH-cam will remove subscribers that haven't interacted with the channel. I think its an attempt to make sure the subcribers are actually interested in the content.
@@TrailTravelerhmmm. I watch and like regularly but don’t always comment.
Trail~ ‘sup?- liek it- best -later~:)
???
Thank you for NOT becoming yet-another-OnX-Offroad-shill
Yeah, that's not going to happen
@@TrailTraveler AWESOME! I've been using Gaia GPS since long before OnX Off-road even existed.
