Hi Jennifer! No, any SMW version will work I believe. In my case, I play a >30 years old japanese SMW cartridge on console. Of course, I think you can use an emulator. Anything is possible!
@@jennifersweeney9372 I found this unintended exit difficult also. If you do the version with the Item swap on Yoshi's tongue, it is important that two glitched berries are there when Yoshi's lays its egg... good luck...!

You think it would be possible to have a key/keyhole in your item box and get a key/keyhole from a mushroom using powerup incrementation? Would that be a new exit?
Hi Fhat Videos! It's true that you can go to Power Status 211 and get the Keyhole in the item box (with a Feather), and then go to Power Status 128 to be able to spawn a Key in the item box with a Mushroom. If you do the glitch berry trick and spawn a Mushroom in Yoshi's house, you could trigger a secret exit in Yoshi's House (which I did not do yet,... and never seen before...). You know, when a trigger a secret exit in a level containing only a normal exit, you trigger the normal exit of the next level. I read somewhere that if you trigger a secret exit in Yoshi's House, you will trigger the normal exit of Yoshi's Island 1. If the level is cleared, nothing happens, but if the level Yoshi's Island 1 is uncleared, doing the secret exit in Yoshi's House will, I think, block the path between Yoshi's Island 1 and the Yellow Switch Palace (see my videos on the unintended secret exit of Donut Plains 4).
