Thanks for the video. I’m looking into getting this kit but the reviews on the cubcadet website are just horrible. Lots of people say it still just leaves clumps of grass everywhere. How are you finding it after using it for a few months? I’m thinking of finding the mulch plug and getting blades from somewhere else

I have found that it does leave clumps when turning the mower if the grass is too long (cutting too much off at one time) or slightly wet still. If it is long and i take it down in two swipes or a little at a time, it does great. Also they did seem kind of dull out of the pack as another viewer had mentioned in the comments. I also may try sharpening.
Different blades may be the key. Let me know if you go that route and if it works good or not. If I try different blades I will make another video about it.

So, you showed how to put blades on... But what about the mulching plug? That would seem simple, but best I can figure, they gave me a kit for a ZT2? Maybe? Because it sure don't fit and videos like this just show blade change???

Don’t these blades seem incredibly dull out of the package ? I almost want to take a grind wheel and sharpen them but I’d be removing the yellow coating in the process.
I have used it several times since making the video and I am thinking about dropping the deck to sharpen them. Honestly didnt notice them being dull when I installed them. I thought maybe i hit something to dull them and I have chewed up some branches with them.
Jack the front of the mower up and use a impact gun. I change my blades in 10 minutes. Just trying to save you time and unneeded steps.

I usually use a 2x4 to prop the mower and tie a rope to my carport for extra support and don’t have to get the deck off. So much easier.

Bought this kit with deck plug last year. .. dont really like it. Leaves clumps of grass as you turn around. .. not really worth the money or time.
I have noticed that when grass is a little wet still or i am cutting too much off because grass grew too much. I also sharpened the blades.
why not just jack the mower up and change the blades instead of removing the deck don.t make sense
I have a vid in the works showing that as well just need to edit and upload. I was taking the deck off anyway to check it, so I showed it in video. Plus I believe thats what the manufacturer says to do with the mulch kit. But yes putting front on a jack stand and crawling under to change them is much quicker
