I like the heroic and kinda emotional tone of the themes but i still prefer the field+battle themes for the desu1. That game really embodyes the "survivor" part of desu. Plus Garuda and pinch battle are a banger.
I agree! While DeSu2's music is more varied and it has some awesome themes, I prefer the OST of DeSu1. Themes like the Bels' theme really conveys you how dangerous the situation is
DeSu soundtrack has an interesting division for me. When I’m playing I much prefer DeSu 1 soundtrack, but when I’m listening to music alone, I listen to DeSu 2. This is exactly the same as the Persona original soundtrack VS the remade for the Portable version.
I like all the songs here but my favourites are definitely Septentrion and Will of the Species. I love synths and the build up in Septentrion. In fact, having not played this game yet(Playing DSO currently) I already love the music and the protagonist's design. Desu games have my favourite protag designs in the series, probably.
My dumbass actually called the piano in Septentrion 'synths'. Not a big music expert here but that's clearly a piano as part of the main melody in Septentrion and Will of the Species.

Some people maybe, just like some people started Danganronpa by watching the anime. But I think most of them knew about the series. I haven't seen anyone who said "Yeah I watched the anime but haven't played the games"
Yeah I agree. While I do like some aspects of 2, it seemed to me like it went more to the Persona route with the kinda Social Links and everyone being allies and happy and all. I mean I like happy endings but... What I liked about the first Devil Survivor is how dark it was and how no matter what route you took you could never make everyone happy, because that's realistic, everyone had a different goal after all.
Well it still has it's motif which is "let's survive" but it is different. I honestly can't think of another plot for devil survivor cause we already had invasions and lockdowns. So I can't think of anything else for a new plot, maybe that's why still don't have devil survivor 3.
Japan? More like THE WHOLE WORLD. Seriously I find it funny that this game is more relaxing than the first one, and in this one the world is basically ending while the first one was just a part of Tokyo.
+pantoine12 Because that one I think only repeats once while the others repeat twice. Sorry, I couldn't find a better version. If you want an extended version there are some videos of it
PokemonaMoni no that's ok someone else did an extended version i was confused cause the first i heard this song i found a video that played it for over 3 minutes long then i found another video that played it for a minute so i didn't know what's going on. so you said the song repeats once does that mean the length of the song is one minute not 3?

@@guren1059 song is Desperate Situation, i'm not 100% sure it played during a fight, but i don't think i would've remebered it so if it wasn't the case
Dang, the music doesn't really fit an smt game to me if I'm being honest buuuut, it sounds less jarring and aggravating than devil survivor 1... That game had really loud music that repeated far too much.
I believe this is the same composer as Persona, which explains why it sounds different than other SMT games. And I agree that it doesn't have the same... energy? There are some tracks that I like, but overall I prefer DeSu 1. Yeah, there weren't many tracks in that game but they were more energetic and more in tune with mainline SMT.

Decisive Battle with a Sworn Friend. That theme rules
Great song though Providence is my favourite
Damn, the soundtracks used in the Triangulum arc are definitely some of my favorites, specially Threat and vulnerability and At last
The Meguro ones are phenomenal, as usual. Still can't believe SMT4 and SMT:A didn't recruit him, he's the best composer at Atlus alongside Koshiro.

Much as I love DS1's rock and metal aesthetic the tracks in DS2 feel more appropriate and not something I like to white noise after a while.
