So what did you guys think? Did you check out Jay and April’s versions? Also a quick reminder to check out the website article for more info - goo.gl/a4688u
I watched all three - yours last. All three were nice clocks. I think yours was the best of the three. I think Jay's would have been the best if he had completely abandoned his original design and dropped the round piece as well. If the clock had been installed in the wood with some nice markers for 12, 3, 6, and 9, it would have been no contest. Still, his turned out pretty well.
Watched all 3. All are nice clocks, but I think your takes it. That stain you used really set it off and made that grain pop. Really nice work by you 3.
The clock looks great, love the look of the wood with the dye. Also love seeing the fun you three had working together, the final few minutes were great
OMG. You guys are a trip to watch when your alone in your shop. This was just one big explosion of goofy. Love the work you guys are doing. You continue to keep me inspired to start up my own shop. Plus this goes to show just how much can get done in such a small space. If 3 of you can do 3 projects at the same time in the same shop. Then it goes to show. The size of your shop really isnt a factor on getting something done.
All great builds! I like your "style" the best but not the stain. Nicks turned part was awesome, and April's 'key rack' added a nice touch. Have really enjoyed your three-some videos. Do it again, to ALL.
Very nice clock, Nick! I am so jealous that you have a source for maple (curly, spalted, etc.) so close to you. It has been so great to watch the three of you working side by side in your shop. The three of you will have to get together again real soon!
Great job on the clock Nick, love to see all the behind the scenes stuff and you all trying to work around each other and together at the same time. Looks like it was a whole lot of fun.
Great looking clock Nick, it's really cool how a common interest and TH-cam has brought you guy's together. I very much enjoyed watching this video. Many thanks!
Nick, I started watching woodworking videos about a year and a half ago, and for some reason I thought I had watched one of your videos early on and didn't like it, so I never watched your stuff again. I must have been confusing you with someone else. I watched this video because I like April and Jay . I have now watched a bunch of your videos and love them all.
Nice clock Nick! Looks like you guys had fun. Had fun watching all three videos. I've got some scrap walnut in the shop now...I think you all inspired my next project... cheers man!
Tough to call this but I reckon you edged it with that black top and bottom, set off the wood really nicely. All 3 were great clocks though, amazing what you can do in a day with a friend and Jay....
Dear Nick, I have loved watching this clock making video but much more was the end of the recording. I hope that you stay friends for a very long time you are a lovely bunch. I wish if I had some one hear in the U K like you.
So I wanted to let you know that I subscribed specifically because you said acid brush...that is what we called them in the Navy, and after I got out and got a civilian job my coworkers never heard of them...I dont remember what they used to call them but I finally fixed the issue...have been subscribed to April forever, but going to give yours and Jay's a shot. Loved how you wrapped that grain around, too!
Sweet clock really like the way that maple popped with the dye and Nick what an awesome glue up with those 45's perfect dead on grain lines. Awesome job and I have to say I was lmao 😂 at the retakes at the end.
You win the outtake competition. Sorry, Jay. Though I think April was definitely enabling Nick in his crazy moments... Great looking clock. I was worried for your sanity when you said you were adding PINE to that maple, but the black works. Good choice on the black hands as well. Great results!
it was hearing protection but what you are talking about was headphones - oddly enough, they were hanging on the tripod that was recording that bit - last place I thought of course
The other two clocks were good, but yours was the best! I'm going to go post this same thing on the other videos now, but yours really was the best... Really.
So beautiful!...the clock turned out nice too... Seriously though, such a beautiful design and those colours are stunning. The question we all need to know, where were they in the end?
Hey Nick, first off GREAT CLOCK! I had a question that I know you've mentioned before but cant seem to find it. Where did you get your digital angle finder from? Thanks in advance!
What a beautiful grain and to get those edges spot on certainly brought it all together but, that dye was a bit to much for my liking but having the black base/top and hands drew me liking it. Well done... (I did think this was the best clock by the way 😉) 👍🏼🏆
nice simple build. contasting hues are a nice touch.i was suprised the masking tape worked as well as it did. i can see another jig for that type of glue up if ya did it much. as always loved the blooper reel. new channel-"the dysfunctional youtube bunch" lol. keep them videos coming!!
I`m not much on clocks but I have to admit that I can`t decide which one I like best. All three look great to me. I`m envious, you guys are having way too much fun! Back to the clocks, I have made a decision.......Send me all three and I`ll chose one and send back the other two.......maybe. LOL Seriously, a really great set of three videos, three fine clocks and three super woodworkers. Thanks for posting!
Thank goodness you 3 didn't decide to have your "Photographic Twins" working/commentating in the shop image as well, it would have been really easy to trip over tripods!

acoow very cool - yeah they all turned out great!
Watched all 3. All are nice clocks, but I think your takes it. That stain you used really set it off and made that grain pop. Really nice work by you 3.
foley2k thanks - yeah dye on figured wood is pretty killer
I wasn't sure about the orange dye, but once you put the black top and bottom on it looks awesome!
I am in love with how your clock turned out. I also died laughing at all the bloopers at the end. Way too much fun!
Hahaha, you know it right - would ya look at that!
"my friend April Wilkerson..... and Jay Bates." I see how it is..
you dink - I noticed that too - HA!
I was just about to say that too!
Michael Gleason one single missing "S" gets me into so much trouble, haha
Haha, that's the way the world is today. No mistake goes unnoticed ;)
That's right. I'm the friend...you're just a visitor.
So much fun man. I love the contrasting colors on yours.
thanks - we will have to do that again sometime!
The clock looks great, love the look of the wood with the dye. Also love seeing the fun you three had working together, the final few minutes were great
I always like including the bloopers - glad you dig them!
I have to say I like your clock the best. All three of you did an outstanding job, but I personally like your design the best.
yeah they all turned out really awesome - thanks man!

Thanks Jon - I was happy with the contrast as well
Nice clock man! Very constructive.
much thanks Glen!
Material choices, technique, execution, and final result ALL Outstanding!!

Wow Rob, much appreciated!
Great choice with the dye! It really made the wood itself shine, and the black contrasted it beautiful! Great build =)
thanks much Veronica, much appreciated!
LOVE the grain match, Nick! Really fun watching all 3 of you filming at the same time.
much appreciated buddy!
All three clocks really turned out great! I love seeing the three of you all together like this. Entertaining and educational and just plain fun!
Much appreciated - it was a fun time working with the two of them for sure!!
This came out gorgeous, Nick! And damn, Curly Maple always takes dyes well!
It sure does, thx!!

thanks man - so much fun having them around - good times for sure and hopefully we can get together again sometime!
All great builds! I like your "style" the best but not the stain.
Nicks turned part was awesome, and April's 'key rack' added a nice touch.
Have really enjoyed your three-some videos.
Do it again, to ALL.
thanks!

Much thanks Dave - I'm pretty spoiled for suppliers here
Great job on the clock Nick, love to see all the behind the scenes stuff and you all trying to work around each other and together at the same time. Looks like it was a whole lot of fun.
thanks Fred, it was - two awesome friends and many laughs were had for sure!
Have to hand it to you Nick, this was a clear winner in my book. Great design!
Thanks much!
Awesome to see you 3 work together. I had watched each of you before separately before any collaboration vids and I like all 3 styles of git er done.
Thanks, it was a lot of fun working together!
Great looking clock Nick, it's really cool how a common interest and TH-cam has brought you guy's together. I very much enjoyed watching this video. Many thanks!
thanks Mike - yeah it's pretty surreal - never thought I'd be doing all this 3 years ago - life is funny that way!
All three of you made real nice clocks! Thnx for sharing!
much appreciated Maarten!

Tough to call this but I reckon you edged it with that black top and bottom, set off the wood really nicely. All 3 were great clocks though, amazing what you can do in a day with a friend and Jay....
haha - I forget one "S" and that happens, lol
Dear Nick, I have loved watching this clock making video but much more was the end of the recording. I hope that you stay friends for a very long time you are a lovely bunch. I wish if I had some one hear in the U K like you.

God Bless my friend.

You win the outtake competition. Sorry, Jay. Though I think April was definitely enabling Nick in his crazy moments...
Great looking clock. I was worried for your sanity when you said you were adding PINE to that maple, but the black works. Good choice on the black hands as well. Great results!
thanks man - and I had to cut most of the bloopers out - can you imagine?
Yeah, I can... seven days of it. How did you get ANYTHING done?
it was tough to say the least
Jay seems to be the dad looking at the kids in that "wait til we get home" look. lol
And we're always in trouble!
Haha, I can tell.
That color wow....it just pops sweet work there Nick
thank you Robert!
Very nice clock, Nick. I've liked especially the simultaneous video making.
it was so much fun to do - thanks!

Thanks much James!
Nice one Nick, seen April's clock , now off to watch Jay's version. Love the out takes.
thanks darran - we had plenty of them!
They all turned out nice. Was that the missing hearing protection I saw hanging on the cabinet door?
it was hearing protection but what you are talking about was headphones - oddly enough, they were hanging on the tripod that was recording that bit - last place I thought of course
Love the grain continuety along with your joinery! Great collaboration
Thanks much J!
The other two clocks were good, but yours was the best!
I'm going to go post this same thing on the other videos now, but yours really was the best... Really.

for sure - it was pretty late at that point
So beautiful!...the clock turned out nice too...
Seriously though, such a beautiful design and those colours are stunning.
The question we all need to know, where were they in the end?
What do you mean about the end?
Ahhh, sounded better in my head. Where were your ear defenders?
Jamie Reader ahh, now I get it - they were hanging on the tripod that was filming that - how funny is that?
Brilliant! I guess if you're trying to find something before filming, the last place you're going to look is going to be at the camera too.
Jamie Reader exactly!
Hey Nick, first off GREAT CLOCK! I had a question that I know you've mentioned before but cant seem to find it. Where did you get your digital angle finder from? Thanks in advance!
Ignore this comment....I'm an idiot
I have everything listed here - nickferry.com/my-tools-equipment/

That's a nice clock Nick! I've never made a clock before. If I did, I'd do it on my scroll saw.
awesome, go for it!
The short buss of woodworking presents....
What a beautiful grain and to get those edges spot on certainly brought it all together but, that dye was a bit to much for my liking but having the black base/top and hands drew me liking it. Well done... (I did think this was the best clock by the way 😉) 👍🏼🏆
Thanks Marc, I appreciate it!

Yup dowels can be tricky - luckily I only had the 4
sand the edges of the clock hands to expose the brass for a trim look... it will complement the 3,6,9,12 brass...just my opinion...thanks for sharing
Great tip, thanks!
I love the look of this clock!
thank you kindly, I appreciate it!
Hi Nick great clock great shop and must be good to have a friend and Jay to work with ,
G
Always a fun time - thanks!
I`m not much on clocks but I have to admit that I can`t decide which one I like best. All three look great to me. I`m envious, you guys are having way too much fun! Joint compound in the end grain....freaking brilliant. Also...what is the Nick Ferry ponytail situation happening underneath that hat?
was growing a 18" mohawk for about a year and a half now but cut it this past weekend
Great video man! April brought me here so I subscribed!
awesome - glad to have you here!
Thank goodness you 3 didn't decide to have your "Photographic Twins" working/commentating in the shop image as well, it would have been really easy to trip over tripods!
all too easy - 3 is enough!
thank you for sharing
no problem!
Yours wins!! The stain pushed it over the top.
the dye does make the curls pop! thanks
elegant and simple.
No I'm not talking about April and Jay. ;-)
Hahaha thanks!
Genial amigo nick .....muy original saludos🌞
Gracias por su amabilidad mi amigo
Is someone singing around the 1:20 mark, or is an animal or power tool dying? lol
lol - it's the router
Great out takes.
thanks Tim!
Nice clock. You three play well together.
