this split soul incantation sounds interesting, how do you use it off style? Wep swap, use split soul then back to regular wep?
@@user-ow1bc4sx2r I doubt it, I think it would only work on Necromancy damage. But I forgot to test that.
Great video! I've been watching the videos from the other content creators who were invited to play-test Necromancy, and they're all quite different! Did you all talk to each others and decide how each of you were going to talk about it, or did it just happen organically?
@Nathan-tb4jv We talked a little bit about it, but we all had our own different priorities from the start anyway.
Do you think necro will leave the other three styles in the dust?

It seems they just need to add some kind of toggable ability to give your minions a specific command. Like a toggle between attack the main target, attack anything I'm attacking, and then maybe just a generic attack anything that attacks the player.
They would obviously need to prioritise your minions not switching attack targets every 2 seconds because that would be very ineffective.

Thanks for the incredibly in depth video! This has me enticed and may pull me back into the game. The current combat system just isn’t working for me, so this could get me back! I’m so glad RS is listening to us when we say that the combat system currently is difficult for new or low level players to push into! Only thing I want now is an easier way to open up group bosses without needing to resort to a discord or clan chat. I’d much prefer an instanced system that you can jump into without hopping from world to world trying to find groups for stuff such as Croesus.
I like the way they are doing the auto attacks and frankly they should adjust out comat style to do it similarly.. kinda like what eoc should have been from the start. I like it..
Also other auras for tanking and stuff will be nice.
I'm thinking this is how they're going to test for reworking combat as a whole and bringing the other styles to 120
@@suezotiger I think bringing the other styles to 120 would be wise as well since we are already hitting limits on gear tiers.
If we can control where the minions go and what they can attack (ctrl + left click) that would be pretty cool
If they release a Necromancy Void Helm we could easily see the return of Voidscape considering that Necromancy goes to 120.

So they are making it where you have to wait 1.8 seconds to use an ability after the auto attack? Pretty sure in full manual, you can use an ability immediately after the auto attack?

Super excited to try out necromancy when it arrives.
Not... not so much to see that people are optimizing the fun out of it ;_;
I'd love to see a few things implemented: 1) a "no minions" mode where your autos/abilities are stronger if you have no minions out, and 2) a toggle/direct for minions - "attack same target", "attack this target", and "attack random target".
Feels good to have a new skill.
What is the rune usage like? The wish-list includes pure essence and I've seen a rate of 200 P ess to 40 of the new essence - Should irons for example just hard gather pure essence? (If you can answer that)
Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of this, so I don't know.

it would be nice if jagex added a HOD on screen in 1 spot that showed what ability was just pressed. I learned eoc but i genuinely have no idea what someone is doing or pressing when they are in combat its annoying af

What would you say was the hardest boss you killed successfully purely with necromancy? Do you think you still had room for improvement that you could have gone to something even harder?
I didn't get to test much beyond 100% Telos, 2000% Arch-Glacor, and solo Solak because I was busy documenting all the mechanics and finding bugs. I feel like those bosses are kind of the cap of what is reasonably alright, though. 100% Zamorak doesn't feel super feasible with how conjures don't switch targets.

Exactly and it said to be a medium combat skill. (Not weak or strong to anything just neutral). Why would I retrain a combat skill when I got the best maxed out mage gear. I totally thought it was gona be a support skill like archeolgy

So how does "not having basics" work when kiting/running around and firing off attacks - do you have to reclick the boss each team you want to attack? or does the game launch a "basic" or auto every 1.8sec?
In the build we played, you have to click back every time you want to autoattack. If you want to kite losslessly, you need to be using abilities, so kiting losslessly with just autoattacks is impossible. The Necromancy autoattack ability you see in the ability book does nothing.
Any info on how t99 nerco pray unlocked? I see that people with 99 prayer don’t have it auto unlocked.
same as the other 3 t99 prayers, the codex will be updated on release to also give the necro prayer, sorry i know its a month late, was back watching some vids to see anything i missed from the beta

If Necromancy turns out to be a success, it would be backported to them.

You're not, but it's also incredibly specialized and requires poison as well. You can't apply that everywhere, like Telos or Zamorak.

I had a huge argument on reddit about the way basics should work as opposed to how they currrently do a few months ago and Im glad to see that they went the direction I wanted. I'd also like to see what they have in store for 99+ as that could be the bread and butter of the skill.
I lost count of the amount of times you overused the word "actually". It became unbearable, but thanks for your input on the new content coming up in the future. More devs need to do this sort of thing to better the overall experience of the content that is released.

The skill going to 120 worries me.
I don't know if necromancy wants to be balanced to where 99 melee/range/magic is on par with 99 necro, or 120 necro.
It's a REALLY worrying part of the skill for me.
Feel like it opens the door for the other styles to go to 120 as well
Why the spectral shield?
The spectral shield is going to become the necro version of arcane divine and elysian

I forgot to test this and I don't know if anyone else did.
It does not work on Corp or Dag Kings.

There's absolutely no shot that necro swap for ecb effect in any style makes it into live, right...? That seems completely unintended and makes ecb dead content

I can't believe we're getting a new combat skill tbh. It's wild but I can't wait.
I always thought martial arts would be a cool "4th" combat style that could be like a mutation for the current styles.
with 3 different subcategories for it.
Hand to hand for melee. (Gloves, claws)
Ninja type stuff for ranged. (kunai, rope dart)
And Chi stuff for magic. (spiritual ornaments)

Game needs more pvm, reworked old bosses, combat fixes and balancing, and safe pvp and minigame reworks, and extremely good rewards exclusively for both of them unobtainable anywhere else. I'd say pking but since everything costs too much in rs3 and people are scary as hell to do anything but skilling safe is the best way to go. Idc what the autistic skiller wants, it sucks seeing game on life support and no new players

Rip ecb i guess if u can get the spec for free on all styles with just a single spell. Hope necro ecb stacks with ecb spec, if not i fear ed3 is dead content.
I feel like they gotta give the ECB a new spec or something, unless this version is just like 50% weaker. There are people who have ECB Essence of Finalities who will be crying otherwise.
@@Luckysquirrel1256 gotta remember ed3 is not so new anymore, its ok to let things die.
ECB will be fine for the following reasons. It is for ranged and using an eof or special attack is 1 input and 1 GCD. Using the split soul spell off style would require you to switch to a necro weapon, then activate the spell split soul which also incurs the GCD and switch back, Why would someone go few all those extra inputs and possibly lose ticks during your split soul duration losing damage. it makes zero sense. Maybe magic users would do that but we don't even know if the split soul spell works without nerco weapons equiped.
The power creep is real with this one!

Why would ecb be dead it's for range and it is much easier to just click eof or special attack, than swap to nerco weapon split soul and swap back. Probably fewer ticks too.
@Arcane Fox still a bit worried about ecb plummeting now because of it 😅😆 oh well!

Every kid has a FSOA+AD and knows 1 rotation only with a macro on his mouse but is pushing Zammy enrage somehow.
Meanwhile only a few sweaty guys even PvM with range, melee unless full BiS
@anita k i think macros will give you minor ban for macros. Only 1.1 is allowed. Not click 1 time and do 6 things
Everything good in rs3 is ruined by the fact that the game is riddled with inconsistency, micro transactions, silly cosmetics.. oh the list goes on and on
