    agree on your final point about value for the money. pretty shocking really how nice a car you can get in the used market. i think the love for the german and japanese cars in this market segment push down the resale of these cadillacs. good for us!

    You are spot on with this video. They are giving these cars away. I bought my 2014 luxury 3.6 awd a little over a year ago. It is optioned up a bit and listed at 49,000. Like you I was looking to stay under 20 grand. BMW, Lexus, etc all well over 20 or had super high miles. Picked the Caddy up for 17,300 with 29000 miles. They were asking 18,900. It is the best handling non modified car I have ever owned hands down. I do wish it had more torque. On the things you hate video I agree controls are frustrating. The other stuff though; I average 22 mpg and I drive the car pretty hard but I don't have much stop and go traffic. Trunk is tighter than my old Acura TL but with the Luxury version of the ATS the rear seat fold flat! I can fit my road bike back there no problem. My run flats were replaced so no worries there. Overall I love the car. If it had a manual I would never get rid of it. Thanks for the video!

      same absolutely! love my Cadillac ATS. it's a 13 so it's a little more outdated than the 15s but I love it. I have the base luxury trim. still have the performance features though I got lucky 😅 all-wheel drive automatic transmission sedan V6 absolutely love it! definitely recommend it, especially if you want something smaller than the CTS but feel like you're driving a CTS

      How does it compare to the 2.0?
      I've seen a few used options for the ATS. It's just so annoying when the infotainment is terrible. Luckily there are a few options for adding Apple CarPlay, although they aren't cheap or easy to install.

    Nice to hear these things from an owner. I’m researching/in the market for an ATS Performance. I’be never owned a modern GM car (my parents had some GMs when I was a kid). I’ve only owned Toyota or Honda so far personally… both known for (and I can attest) for their reliability… so that is my main concern - How reliable are these cars, has there been many issues? If properly maintained, are they kind of problem free? With a used Honda or Toyota, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a well maintained 100k+ mile used car… but I’m wondering if it’s the same with these - or should I be sure to find something with much less miles on it? Thanks, if you have time to offer some insight with your experience..

    • @RDMotoring
      @RDMotoring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Powertrain wise you don't have much to worry about. The 3.6 I had is a very common motor throughout GM. I would mainly be concerned with the electronics. I've seen the screens freeze up on these cars with over 100k miles, but it's still something that can be fixed with a days worth of work and a few hundred bucks for a replacement

      @@RDMotoring awesome thanks a lot for taking a minute to offer some advice. That’s good to know and something I’m definitely able to handle as I’m stereo install experienced.. I generally like when the vehicles has just a basic double-din that can be swapped for a more modern aftermarket unit… but I’ve seen it’s possible to get apple CarPlay going on these, and that’s mainly what I want.

    The 3.6L V6 engines are TRASH! Coming from multiple reputable mechanics have said this engine is almost as bad as the Shit Star engines caddy used to have. Get the 4cyl 2.0T instead. The 45 or so horsepower you lose in the 2.0T compared to the 3.6L V6 can easily be gained + with 1 or 2 simple mods and a tune without the greater chance that your engine shits itself. Also get a coupe over a sedan the coupes look so much better. Not to mention the ATS Coupes are a lot more rare than the sedans I’ve seen ratio’s as much as 15-1/20-1.

      actually no, I don't know what V6 you have. maybe the past owners did not take care of it very well but we have v6s and V8 in my family and they are both over. wow 400,000 mi haven't had to change a thing drives just like it came out of dealership. I definitely recommend getting a V6 Cadillac anything V6 from GM. if you want to save gas. if I don't get another V8 in my future I will be getting another V6
