Thank you so much for your time that you spend helping all of us at different skill levels, I have been completely stuck on certain things, despite doing a very short music technology course... Your videos are so clear, and the help that you give is invaluable. 🙏🏼
This is a best series of tutorials I've found concerning Logic X even though it was created in 2013. Here's why it's the best. MusicTechHelpGuy is very careful to provide each step in a process without skipping over issues, especially basic issues. Example: Where (precisely) is the button that allows me to turn on Flex Pitch? He never skips a step! Thank you so much. (PS: I'll bet you're a teacher.)
Thanks for the video man! You probably hear this all the time, but here it goes: Your teaching style is superb. 1) The intonation and the particular quality of your voice make it very easy to pleasantly learn for extended listening times. Some people can have great information they want to share, but if I can't listen to them for more than a minute without wanting to stick a pencil in my ear, then it is "BOUNCE!" time. - it can be very disheartening to me, and sad for the channel maker, especially if I really wanted to hear what the person had to say. 2) THE INFORMATION YOU ARE SHARING , is actually SUPER HELPFUL!!!. Fundamentally, in a short period time, you answer the lesson focus, address common operational logistics, you answer the minor questions I have as they are coming to me, and then you cap it off with an example. But, moreover, you achieve it all with out redundancy or making me feel that it is being dumbed down too significantly. There is great value in being able to perform the former list of feats and actually make learners glad to have spent their time learning with you. I could go on, but I won't. This is a solid "thank you" from a musician with very little money and a hunger for videos like yours. Sorry, I can't pay you for the lesson, if I could, I would! Commence Completion of ASS KISSING rant! Seriously, Thanks bro!!
Thanks man. The singer is very grateful that his flat G could be corrected. It was way up high and I was considering getting a surgeon involved to perform a castration. Without your clear instruction, there would have been no way I would have had the patience to do this. You are an outstanding teacher.
This was an incredibly useful video! And I'm so grateful that you included your personal opinions about the usefulness and limitations of Flex Pitch vs. Melodyne, as well as the differences between voice types, and how they make auto tuning more or less effective. Really well done! Thank you!
I totally enjoyed your presentations of videos 19 thru 23, especially 23. Thanks for taking the time and sharing your knowledge with others. I hope to view your other Logic Pro X videos related to Flex Pitch.
Apple must hire you to do videos for Logic. I learned so much of things I never knew or didn't like to do and finally got them to do because of your videos. Your videos are absolutely well produced may be superior than some of the expensive certificate programs online. May you flourish with wealth with what you offer others with your knowledge. I'll be joining your Patreon.
Hi Josh. I've just moved over to Logic after using Cubase for Years. I just wanted to say how brilliant your video series is and how it's really helping me cross platforms. Kudos to you. :)
MusicTechHelpGuy thank you so much! I payed so much money to go for a Logic course once a week for one year. The teacher was obviously Logic certified and suppose to be really good, but you have given me more than him in 23 videos. Cheers from Sweden.
Been using Flex Pitch to record my vocals for over a year. Definitely learned something else in this video to maybe save a little money for now before really investing in software.
New to Logic Pro and just getting ready to buy Wave Tunes plugin when I ran across this video. Thanks so much and very informative. Just saved me $69 bucks!
dude the very best 26 minutes that i spent in my whole life watching tutorials!! such a complex video. this is really helpful man good luck! do some more stuff
Sooo helpful! Esp. 12:32 + when you eliminate the vibrato! I’m trying to figure out how to get the vocal to sound like the iPhone plugin “Extreme Pitch,” which I love! 👍
Your videos are wonderful, I understand them all, the easier it is impossible.these are videos are super instructive, in my opinion they are the best classes of this youtube. thank you very much for sharing all this information .. you are the best .. i am very grateful.thanks
Thanks so much for this amazing, amazing series of Logic Pro X tutorials. The package is enormous and your information is so helpful! It has saved us hours of hard slog. Cheers Mate from Glenn & Dave.
MTHG be The Man. This vid may be from '13, but I worked w/Logic constantly then - and now I'm back. Still, this video just filled needs re: the project I'm submerged in right now. 1- Where's the first place you look for great LogicTuts? MTHG. 2- where after that? Carney Media. Dang - all I have to come up w/ is 3 & 4. MTHG gives me 1 - 2 + 3 - 4... "Hit it!"
Without your vids I'd be lost. I was using the pitch correction for a voice track and was ticking off keys on the piano to find a correct note and surprise surprise the keys I was hitting on the keyboard were changing the notes in the FlexPitch area one after another. So if, for example I kept banging on middle C all the notes would change to that starting with the next note and on down the line.
this is a great series of tutorials and that was the most useful so far for me. thanks tech guy. At least I don't need to fork out for Melodyne after all. glad i upgraded from garageband
That was really great! I was struggling with a couple of iffy notes on a recording and I was fumbling around with the flex pitch but really getting poor results. This has helped in a huge way (as has the Melodyne suggestion!)
i have difficulties to understand all the topic because i am french but the essential is understood. The tuto is very well explained, very clearly and I thank the author cordially
In 27 minutes I have graduated from a newbie in vocals to a semi-pro. A big thank you. Do you have other tutorials in Equalisation? Once again thank you
Great tutorial! I was on the fence weather or not to move to Logic Pro X. Main reason is because it didn't support Melodyne and Drumagog. I am convinced to give it another try. All the best!
This is neat, I didn't even know you could do this. I try to rely on skill rather than correction, but I can see how this can be useful in pop songs and rap and stuff.
iwanna thank u for all those videos thank u very much I've learn a lot i wanted to knw do u have any videos about mixing and master a beat before record any vocals on it ?
@Young rich famous Most handsome n wealthy Not sure why thats happening. If you switch off the flex pitch button on the track that will void any flex pitch edits
hey i ve been listening to you since 2015 , i hv learnt alot from you , i would like to translate your tutorial series in my language for people here who are not good with english , do let me know , thankx ,
what would you say is average pitch drift for a good singer? in other words how much drift would you allow for realism before correcting a note? great video!
Good video! Thank's. But i want ask you. What you do, when you have voice, but have not block fore this piece. As in your example between "in this world"
Hi there thank you for your great videos. I have a question. could you please explain why you had some vocals recorded in mono and some in stereo? The girl vocals you did correction to her voice was recorded in stereo . Thanks again.
Yo! Great tutorial. Thank you. Wondering if you can answer this question. When I go into Flex Pitch, sometimes the bars are thick and manageable to edit, and sometimes they get really skinny and it's difficult to work with. Do you know what I mean? I can't figure out what is making those bars change!
MusicTechHelpGuy Thanks so much for your Logic Pro X tutorials! Has helped me out a bunch. I'm thinking of getting Melodyne 4 Essential because it's what I can afford at the moment. Would Melodyne 4 Essential be a step up from Flex Pitch? Or is it pretty comparable to Flex Pitch? Thanks in advance.
Melodyne essentials is a step up from Flex pitch in accuracy, but a step down in features. One big thing you lose in the essentials version is the ability to control the vibrato amount. You can only do just basic tuning.
Haha, yes it is, but don't give up on Melodyne just yet. I've found that Melodyne is much more sensitive than Logic's Flex Pitch, and I still prefer Melodyne over this.
So i'm having an issue with pitch flex. The side bar that should have "Correction" that you can change from 0 to 100% isn't there. I'be been using pitch flex a ton and all of a sudden the sidebar is blank. Please help!! I can send a screen shot if needed.
Thanks for making this video. What kind of Melodyne are you working with? I've tried the trial and I like the functionality of it and currently in the research process of buying the right program. Vocals are big for me as I do all sorts of vocal styles and patterns, so finding the closest program that can cover what I do would be great. Out of the editing software that you mentioned, which would be your first go-to? Obviously it comes down to personal usage etc. Thanks again- Randall

Some of the best Logic Pro tutorials out there. Always concise and understandable

ONCE AGAIN not only did I enjoy the clarity of the video I learned a LOT! Thank you so much for this!

Without your clear instruction, there would have been no way I would have had the patience to do this. You are an outstanding teacher.
I gotta tell you, you explain things in a perfect way and it's not something you see too much in tutorials. This is a brilliant one. Thank you!
You are the best bro.... The honesty when you explained and all 26 minutes were worth... Amazing... Subscribed your channel

Bro watched your tutorials on mixing and just wanted to say thank you. Great work and much appreciate. You da man..

Man, this stuff is great. I'm new to logic and these videos are super helpful. It's a great program once you get used to it. Keep it up!
That was really great! I was struggling with a couple of iffy notes on a recording and I was fumbling around with the flex pitch but really getting poor results. This has helped in a huge way (as has the Melodyne suggestion!)
THIS IS CRAZY! Never thought we could do such things.. haha! I'm loving mixing #LogicProX

Man your tutorials are the best. Thanks so much!
As of 10.2.4 both Flex Pitch and Flex Time seem to be a lot better, particularly Flex Pitch. They gave it some love in the last update.
so much better than reading words in a manual. visual assistance for a visual interface
Thanks again. your tutorial are really easy to understand and great 👍
Good Stuff!!! I am a Logic X User but didn't really explore this feature much because i use melodyne for correction, but good video! Cheers!!
.... so good I watched this before uploading some music tomorrow.

Great Man,you helped me out. Superb and simple video.
You are a gem bro... thank you for your time and effort... appreciate this. ------ all the way from
Singapore
Actually I've been using Melodyne as a plugin and it was kinda a pain in the ass. I'm very happy with Flex Pitch and it apears to be all I need :)
This is neat, I didn't even know you could do this. I try to rely on skill rather than correction, but I can see how this can be useful in pop songs and rap and stuff.

Very Very Very beautiful. Good work
Flex Pitch has improved significantly in the last couple of updates, and it's no longer a poor man's Melodyne.
Incredibly helpful series, thank you!
Thanks for these great tutorials, they're great!
Can you share what EQ you used for the guitar and what your settings were. Sounds really nice. Thanks for the video, really helpful!

wow this is similar to melodyne this was a great tutorial thanks!!
Haha, yes it is, but don't give up on Melodyne just yet. I've found that Melodyne is much more sensitive than Logic's Flex Pitch, and I still prefer Melodyne over this.
oh okay thanks!

awesome! lots of help... thank you

thank you so much, very simple but effective
What your compressor and eq usually look like? Especially for the most professional sounding walrus lift you can get on logic
I am having a hard time recording in falsetto. Is there a way to apply these same techniques to achieve the falsetto sound I'm looking for?
Thanks for making this video. What kind of Melodyne are you working with? I've tried the trial and I like the functionality of it and currently in the research process of buying the right program.
