First off, I bought it in 2015 from Porsche of Warwick. It was a 3 owner car with a good maintenance history. It had 28,000 miles and I paid $28,500, which given the values today, has been a pretty good investment. Second, you know how I keep my cars clean, just watch the Avantoberfest video of me giving the RS3 a quickie. The key is to not get it dirty in the first place and know how to safely touch it up when you can! Also, you've got more trust in a go pro suction cup than I do but damn I swear that thing sounds better outside than it does from the driver's seat. And no burble tune here, they are eau natural. Full mod list so far is short throw shifter, boxster spyder side vents, del ray customs tail lights, and of course the Top Gear UK Valved exhaust custom wired to the factory Porsche Sports Exhaust button. You'll have to review it again after I add the Cayamn R suspension, numeric shift cables, Cayman throttle body & plenum and upgtraded seats and steering wheel :) Gonna be a discount spyder.
I pinned this for any future viewers cause realistically if I was a quality TH-cam creator, I would have wrote this stuff down and mentioned all of it haha. But I can't wait for the new suspension. And you certainly won't have to twist my arm to take it out again even if it's just a quick ride

Nice sound,from that Top Gear exhaust. Nice video - you did it with the heart….a true Boxster-man💪😀. I have a 2006 987 Boxster S too. I had a 2.7 Boxster before - absolutely loved it the engine there too. Sold it…thought I wanted to get a 911. Given the choose, I picked the Boxster S, as 50/50 weight distribution, I get in the Boxster, I don`t get in a 996 or 997. The Boxster or Boxster S are just the Ultimate drivers car…with not too much hoursepower - that means you can actually have fun reving it out without loosing your license.
When I hear the condesending words about “…oh, it is not a real Porsche - a 911 is”. Then I just smile at them…and thinking “poor you, you just don’t know…”. It doesn’t matter. I have the most fun 😀😎🛻

I bought my 2013 981 Boxster new and I still love it just as much today, I can hardly imagine parting with it ever. I wish I would've scraped the extra together for an S sometimes (who doesn't like more power!), but this is just an amazing car. Values are going up, get yours now before they get too expensive.
I've come to find the problem with being a car enthusiast and wanting so many different cars but not having the money of bill gates means no matter what I buy now, I'm still gonna over pay for something else down the line 😂
Driving a Boxster and wearing a Chevy-logo shirt 😊. I was never a Porsche guy until I got a used Cayenne; went and got a used base ‘08 Boxster (love the triple blues: exterior, interior, and top). I have another Mercedes SL500 Brabus and I found myself grabbing the Boxster’s key, on the way out, all the time. Great video, by the way!
Once I own the porsche ill buy the porsche shirt😉 and yea absolutely an incredible car. Unfortunately in 72 hours I still never really got used to the key being on the left but I know if I had it for a week I'd get the hang of it haha
You'll either love it or hate it.... my 2006 boxster S, .... I love it and no complaints, no hate, no envy, Hawaii is made for this! And You know that ! ALOOOOOHA! top down 24/7 365! sunsets, moon, stars, and rainbows!
Wow I'm envious of that. Definitely the perfect car. Every night is a starry one with the top down. Must be gorgeous and so peaceful
These are great cars! First time I drove one it was bliss and much better than any BMW I owned including my E46 M3.. My 2011 Boxster is the most enjoyable car I have ever owned and highly recommend any car enthusiast take one for a spin.
I couldn't agree more after my weekend with it. Its too bad no one gives these cars the respect they truly deserve (myself included before I drove this one) I hope people start to see how much they have to offer

Great review of the TopGear exhaust thank you. The more you drive the Boxster S you start realizing it's more than a quality feel, it's that everything is in the right place ... exactly in the right place, makes sense just the right pressure to actuate etc. You mention Corvette, I sold a C6 Z51 with the 400hp/400 lbs ft which was a hoot and sounded awesome but sold it and bought the Boxster S the first thing I noticed was the Porsche transmission "it shifts like butter". Tell your friend Will to do the 4" under drive pulley from Pedro's Garage, my very experienced mechanic ended up doing a 20 minute test hahaha after his shop installed it, he said ya David "that's fast" and we were standing next to a '73 911 Carrera RS 2.7 race car worth $800k, he knows what he is talking about. enjoy
I agree with you 100%. I was dead set on picking up a C5 after I drove one. But then I drove the Boxster S and I just knew that I had to get into the Porsche game. Everything is perfect. The handling, the transmission, the sound, it all just makes me smile every single time I set foot in it. You certainly won't win any straight line races but its what people who have never driven one don't understand. A Boxster S truly is the rich man's Miata. Its just such a drivers car. And I'll certainly let him know. He recently traded his RS3 for a Cayman GTS so his "I need more power" bone is certainly tickled plenty by that car haha

I've got a 2006 Boxster S, amazing car! I've had it a year, can't wait for the weather to get warm so I can drop the top. I'd like to upgrade my exhaust at some point, love how it sounded in the video.
This is by far my favorite exhaust I’ve heard for these cars. I definitely recommend this over everything else
Have a 2009 Boxster S with PDK. Fun car, does everything well, incredibly practical for a sports car. Buy one if you can find a nice example.
You’re a lucky man, I hope to be adding a Porsche to the driveway soon. But as much as I love the Boxster I just can’t get enough of the 911. I’d love a 997.2. I guess we’ll see what the future holds
@@scooch988 I am a lucky guy. I bought a 2006 Z4M roadster and a 2005 SLK55 in the last year. Unless you need a manual, test drive he SLK55. I's a lot of fun on the street. he BMW is a riot too.
@@nornibres I will be needing a manual, I’m THAT guy haha. I do enjoy a proper flappy pedal gear box but when it comes to cars that I own I prefer them to have 3 pedals. I just get so much enjoyment out of them. To me there’s nothing more satisfying than the perfect gear change with zero assistance from the car. I would love to drive a Z4M. I’ve heard great things through the years. And I think the SLK55 would be a great car to take to dinner when you just want something comfortable cause let’s face it, I love a good manual but sometimes it’s nice to just cruise
I just sat in a 20 year old Boxster S at a car lot,l could still smell the leather in 20 year old car,l have to have one too!

You're making the right move my friend. Always thought this was just a lame entry level Porsche until Will let me take it for a weekend. Then I realized its one of the most, if not the best car in its price range for what you get
@@scooch988 I'm a 57 yr old single (2x divorced) with 5 grown kids, and I live alone, for now... so I figured why not get a two seater sports car and have some fun. Every single vid I see on here about Boxsters, say the same thing. Every time they get behind the wheel, they can't help but SMILE ! :)
My first brand new vehicle was a 1986 Jeep CJ7 Renegade, with the removable hardtop. During the summer, I never had the top or doors on it. Just kept a bikini top rolled up behind the back seat. I miss that feeling of an open top vehicle.
Oh yea this boxster is for sure the same way, plus even less work than taking the top off your jeep! Just hop in, hit the button and go haha

THIS is the car to get, glad to see I was able to convince you in a 10 minute video 😂 and sadly I haven’t gotten one yet but I was dead set on buying a 997.2 next, and the more I drive this car the more I want one of these instead, but I’m aiming for the Spyder model

When you had the camera on the rear deck lid. Watch it, and how far the exhaust pipes move. Just thought it strange.

@@blownaway4371 yea I'm not sure what thats all about to be honest. I've filmed probably 3 or 4 different cars exhausts at that angle and they all move like that so I think its just normal

I have a Lexus IS300 as a daily and wanting to do a regular ol 5.3/200r4. Got some things to take care of before though.
But back in the 80's had Porsche 914's when Renegade was starting out.
The Lexus is way under powered but it handles pretty good for what it is. But would like to try out a Boxter like that!

@@blownaway4371 thanks for the views and positive comments! Sounds like you've had yourself a lot of fun toys over the years. I've always thought the 914 was a very cool car but have yet to have the pleasure of driving one. If you ever get a chance to try a boxster of any generation I highly recommend it. Its such an amazing drivers car

I had a 06 z4m roadster that I sold last year and i want another manual roadster. i know the s is a little underpowered compared to my z4m but I feel it could be a good alternative
What you lose in power you make up for in a perfectly balanced, incredibly sounding top tier roadster. The biggest mistake I see people make with these is they say they're slow cause all they do is some straight like pulls. Be sure to hit back roads or do track days. Its where the car really shines. If you get one of these and drive it like was intended, the only regret you'll have is not buying one sooner

@@mikenice1204 thanks! Yea the exhaust was a true game changer on this car. Stock it sounds like a sewing machine. Now when you hear it coming its undoubtedly a porsche, its always a surprise to see its "only a boxster" haha
