However, I was surprised that there was no mention of Hanna Reich (?) the lady who demonstrated this machine inside the Deutschland Halle. A remarkable female test pilot who once test flew a piloted version of the V 1 Buzz-Bomb amongst many other advanced types.
Hi Ray, thanks for the comment and kind words. I am aware of Hannah Reitsch and her pioneering work with helicopters. The reason she's not in this video is because (as far as I know at least) she has no connection to the specific story I was trying to tell about the Fa223. She did fly a rotary wing craft in the hall as you say, but... it was a Focke-Wulf Fw 61, and in the pre-war years, and not a Focke-Achgelis Fa223 which wasn't invented until wartime. Happy to be corrected and always up for learning more... but I hope that answers your question as to why she wasn't in my account of the Fa223 and its eventual journey to England.

I've spoken to some, and they all agree the Drache is unlikely buried though despite the story - such as interesting story though and I loved researching it - hope you are well, enjoying your videos recently too.

RAF Beulieu... I vividly recall the empty field in the late 1950s. We used to explore there, as it was close to Walhampton where I went to school.

It's Beau Lieu - French for "Beautiful Place" ...
