- In this video we're installing the Gobi Roof Rack on our 5th gen 4Runner - we have the "stealth" version of the Gobi Roof Rack. the Gobi Roof Rack was surprisingly easy to install. the Gobi Roof Rack took about 1 hour just to get the rack installed then another 1.5 hours to get the ladder and wind screen installed. Overall we're very happy with our Gobi Roof Rack.

I e never owned a new car in my life. I always buy pre-owned. The amount of caution you took to avoid scratches is awesome 👍. That is the behavior that will make it possible for me to find a decent vehicle that's 10 years old lol 🤔🇺🇲

I do auto body and collision repair for a living, and a good trim removal tool set will save you a whole lot of headaches for interior, and exterior trim. 👍🇺🇲

Thanks for the video! It was very helpful. One plus for me, there is not one square inch of my 4runner that will ever seize up again! I am sure that stuff moves on its own!

Very good install. I am waiting for a transfer kit from gobi to install mine. I too would not use silicone. I used butyl rubber on my trail rack when I added that a few years ago. Zero issues.

Do you still have the Gobi rack on your 4runner. If you do, after a year; wondering what the noise and wind factor is like at highway speeds with cargo and an empty rack.
Silicone update? Ordered my rack yesterday!
I am looking at Gobi for my 2022 4 Runner. There are some confusion options. The crossbars. Either stealth or elevated. But there are 2cmeasurements. I am seeing 60 or 80 inch. Anyone ?
What's the cost and where did you get it from?
The feet of a roof rack are the most critical component. You really need at least 4 per side to handle dynamic loads. Downward force is a minor issue when compared to the side forces generated when a vehicle sways from side to side on a trail or lousy road. Always add at least one extra set of feet regardless of the brand. Those forces need to be spread out.
How is the No silicon work thus far? Putting my roof tomorrow and love your feedback
No issues yet! But I will say this year has been unseasonably dry. Last year we doubled our yearly rainfall. So take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. Certainly the silicone can’t hurt.
I like the look of that rack. How's the noise level when driving?
Definitely noticeable but we got used to it quickly and don’t notice anymore.

How does the front brackets mount to the car? Is there holes under the trim up front?
it rests on the trim. no mounting holes.

It just rests on the car. No need to drill. It’s very stable.
Are able to open your sunroof?
I have to sunroof version and yes I can open the sunroof with and without the sunroof piece installed.
How is the no silicone holding up?
so far no issues but it hasn't been very long
