@@addressinggettysburg Interesting tid bit about this show and my history. I think I've stated that my 2nd Great Grandfather, William W Bailey was a Sergeant in Co. E, 14th VA Cavalry with Jenkins Brigade. Well, his son, my Great Grandfathers (born in 63) name was William Albert Jenkins Bailey always going by Albert. No biggie to most folks but kinda cool to me. Think a general cant influence his men?! There were actually 3 brothers and father riding in E company. William was wounded and lost his arm at the Rummel Farm on the 3rd.
Keep up the good work! Still trying to make it to town this year yet!

Every year’s anniversary episodes have something the current one doesn’t. That’s the beauty of learning about this from experts. They all have their own take and certain facts stick out as important to one guide, while another set of facts stick out to others.

Noone ever mentions if the Confederates tried destroying the gas works.

I dont know. The gas works seemed to be a huge thing for the people of the town but it is never mentioned in the histories of the battle.
